"Huh, " Rollo snorts at Bronte "Thought you guys protected your hoard. some dragon. Those kids could have died."

Bronte winces. Logically, that rede affected Chimera specifically so they wouldn't interfere, but the boggan might be right. This is HER lair, her hoard.

Bronte looks at her claws, claws that did not attack the predator, claws that did not pull a childling to safety, "All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand" She mutters limply.

Rollo snorts again, puts up the chair that was knocked over earlier, and then leaves the library

And Bronte curls into herself, wrapping her wings about her body like both a self hug, and a shield against shame.

The shield is not holding. And the self hug brings no comfort.
