Slowly, Hume smoothes himself and heads to the library. His spine still clicks.

Zara watches him from the shadows - sluagh have a gift for finding them, of course.

He walks in the door to see Bronte, "Hi, Bronte."

"Is Miss Zara around?" he asks, glamour flowing from his cloak

“There is always someone in the world waiting for someone else, whether in the middle of the desert or in the heart of some big city.” Bronte quips.

"You're going to culture fy me whether I like it or not, aren't you?" Hume is less timid and whiney than he was before he got here. And he smiles easily "I suppose I should just wait for a bit."

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

There's a soft rattle of laughter at that one.

Hume looks around "So she MIGHT be here?"

"Yesterday, upon the stair,

"Bronte, thou art just teasing now."

"She is" he turns "Hello, Miss Zara. I'm back from an adventure"

"Aye? How exciting, Monsieur Baggins."

A blush "BLame my lady. She encouraged me to work on a game trod, it worked too well, got sucked in. Really odd but fun. Ever hear of Lit RPG books?"

"Aye?"

"Kind of sci fi fantasy literature that use game world rules and leveling up. Really Niche, though Dungeon Crawler Carl is amazing. Highly reccomend the audiobook... but I ramble. Anyway... I came to a place where there was a book trove in the story I got trapped in, stories in stories? And.. well, I wondered what you'd make of this." He pulls out a book that is chimerical, but looks oddly pixelated. The title of it reads : Medium Transference and Story Conveyence

She arches an eyebrow as she takes the book.

"It has a kind of magic I don't understand" he says

SHE knows what it is tied to. Naming, of a sort, mixed with a touch of metamorphasis

This book basically has blue prints for turning one medium into another. It gives a formula for turning a novel into a video game (As Hume would appreciate) or flip that around, one can make video games into full novels, movies into poetry, paintings into music.

She tilts her head as she skims through the book. "Interesting."

Oh, it would change the material, how can it not? For example, One can love the Lord of the Rings Movies, but they are different from the books. They have to be. A painting is subject to the beholder's eyes somewhat color wise, a story will simply say what you are seeing for you. It all is chimerical though. It would take severe naming at maximum level to turn the autumn aspects and that wouldn't be as malleble.

"All I know is when I took it, the whole game I was in went nuts. Like I won a grand prize. But it's all overmy head. There's an aspect to it that reminds me of source code"

"Of course it does. For that is what it holds."

"But this concerns an Art which is most closely guarded - twin arts, even, one High, one Low."

He nods "Sidhe arrogance and Dougal pride aside, this is beyond my ken, then." Hume says "Can it be used to help Earth Runes somehow?"

Lord Hume has definitely matured in that THAT is his priority.

"Tis a fine prize. Speaking of Dougal, this might well interest Roscoe."

"I'll take it to him then" he says "But normally you get first dibs on books found, kind of Baron August's policy"

"I do. You may let Roscoe know the circumstances." A wry smile.

He takes it "Thank you, Miss Zara" he stops "I.. heard rumors you were moving out? I hope that's wrong. You're invaluable here"

"Oh, my little crooked room is staying. But with graduation, tis a risk to spend overmuch time in the freehold. It is wise to balance with a mortal home."

"OH, what a relief. Uhm... Mozel toff?"

"Mazel Tov." A gentle correction. "And aye, thank you."

"Mazel Tov" he gets it right "And you're welcome. I'm off to see our official namer then"

A slight quirk of a brow at that phrasing.

And with only a look, Octa is sent after the Heir, to spy on him.

Octa follows dutifully. Ironicly one of the 'bugs' the programmer can't scan

Bronte lands on Zara's shoulder and looks at her "Home is where one starts from." —T. S. Eliot?"

There is a plaintive concern in the Bookwyrm's tone.

"Oh, darling."

"Not far. Not far at all. By My River, only. And I shall keep a library there, too, that thou mayest always find a welcome nest."

"Though I think this hoard is too near and dear to thee, to take leave oft."
