OF course, others have had cats for years too. Alas, Poor Yorik, Earl worries.

But he also accepts. He grew up on a farm. Animals didn't just die of old age, but sometimes they had to.

The old gray cat is taking his age more gracefully than Odin. Comes of living with morbid trolls and any sluagh

"Easy boy," He strokes "I know, sometimes I am neglectful. One might forget I even HAVe a cat" stroke stroke

Yorrick gives a purr, but seems cool with it. He's old, he's pampered, he's good

Zara suspects Yorrik has another 3 to five years in him, but the cat coughed earlier and now her lover is in a fuss.

"Alas, aye."

"He's just SO tired, I remember the cat who used to knock the skull off my desk" He strokes more, "I changed his diet. I got him the warming bed. "

Yorrick looks at Zara as if to say 'guess it's my turn to get made a fuss over heh'

"You have."

"Mayhaps thou fusseth... overmuch?"

The only times Earl has urged the cat out of the room is when he and his paramour are in... congress de carnal

The cat shouldn't resent that, but felines can be petty.

"Overmuch? How? He used to zoom about the room, particularly when spooked. Remember how he used to jump at every little thing? Now he's just so tired he is barely phased" That might have more to do with experience than age

"My love. He is dignified, no more a kitten."

"Oh, well, yes" He supposes.

Yorrick however does seem to give a feline nod at this

"But the bed is most fancy, aye."

"Thank you, it's got tassels" He says as if this is a great extra effort

Yorrick likes the tassels. So does Curiosity.

Indeed, Curiosity is watching this blatant manipulation with disgust, disgust that she didn't think of it first. But she's much too young to play the 'oh stay with me in my final years err days cough cough' con.

She rubs at Zara's ankles and tries to look 'faint'

Yorrick purrs smugly

Curiosity does get a little scritch.

But the tortie has always been independent.

SO she has... though one time she curled up with Bronte and vice versa. It was so adorable it could even make a sluagh wanna go 'aawww'

that said, the scritch seems to placate Curiosity

"Aren't we so terribly domestic." Not unhappily.

"I suppose we are" he admits and smiles and chuckles "Though Yorrick has stolen a spot I oft reserve for you when I can" Speaking of his lap, "Forgive us?"

"I know better than to dislodge a Cat."

"Am I not a soothsayer? A witch? Nay, I do not taunt fate."

"No, you are too wise for that" he nods

Curiosity however, IS a cat, in an impulsive mood, she rushes up to the content Yorrick, BOOPS the older cat's nose without claws but a hard paw push ,and then races off.

Surprised and outraged at this, Yorrick forgets he was supposed to be milking his old age for all the perks, and charges after the impudent 'youngster' faster than you can say 'Grandpa Joe can dance'!

It would appear Curiosity will tempt even fate

Different rules for cats!

Earl chuckles "Well, maybe he's not so old after all" Amusement in his eyes

And he stretches out his hand "Would you like to be in my lap, or do you wish to pull me up so I may wander with you to where thou wilt?"

She claims the recently vacated lap. "Mayhaps thou knowest how to make me purr, hm?"

"Oh, I've a few ideas" He gestures and closes the door with a cantrip. The cats can go roam the halls for a bit
