Earth Runes has a lot of team spirit

Bronte puffs up, then looks at the vanquished Codexa “I never saw anybody take so long to dress, and with such little result."

Zara allows it.

Codexa winces. Bookwyrms, like their larger dragon cousins, can be ruthless victors. "'The Importance of Being Ernest' by Oscar Wilde" She says. She rises up on her wings...

and Bronte... follows?

Even through the cheering which is loud and distracting, Zara catches a glimpse of Vince, nonchalantly trying to slip out through the crowd.

The books, you see, are still muddled.

Bronte does turn to Zara, and says “One half of me is yours, the other half is yours,
Mine own, I would say; but if mine, then yours,
And so all yours.”

Zara taps her nose, and gives Vince a Look, before she turns to follow Bronte.

Oh, if a lion can have a hangdog look, he does... and with a sigh, he lifts the glamour. Well... most of it. When they return, there may be one book left altered. But in such a big library, who would ever notice?

(End Scene, heree at least. Zara is ANYWHERE else... as Bronte claims her three prizes with Zara's help)

August hears a lot of chatter in the halls.

"It was marvelous" Charity the maid is heard saying "Bronte was in trouble at the start, but she really bounced back"

He pauses in his studies, and looks up, listening. Bronte?

"I was rather worried," Oswald, Thane and Troll said "if Bronte had lost that duel, what would have happened?"

Duel?

"I don't know, I imagine it would cost her dearly"

He edges closer.

As he does, he hears "And then off goes Bronte and Zara" Oswald mmms

"Off?"

They turn, seeing August "Yes Baron" Oswald bows "They followed the new Bookwyrm after Bronte defeated her"

Charity bows too "I think it had to do with the spoils of Bronte's victory"

"The new... spoils....?"

"Yes" Charity says glad the Baron gets it

"Sorry, I'm... I don't understand?"

Oswald explains "Another Bookwyrm flew in and challenged Bronte to some sort of quote contest. It was interesting. "

"Oh... I was there from the start" Charity realizes she didn't give enough information, and relates all she saw and heard a bit more clearly

"Ah. Well." August puts his book under his arm, closed.

The fact Bronte's final stroke was a quote from the Talmud might be of interest, amusement, or even pride to August

"Baron, I hope I am not seen as slacking during this?" Oswald admits "We don't normally consider Bookwyrm's threats"

"No, of course not. Bronte is able to defend herself."

"She surely did" Charity nods "Oh Miss Zara was NOT pleased about ANY duel in the library but she relented for Bronte's sake. And well, we cheered Bronte on"

"And... what happened?"

"Well, Bronte won" She says

"He means after I think " Oswald explains then says "Baron, Bronte followed the other Bookwym out, along with Zara"

"Ah."

He starts in one direction, stops. "Ah."

"Not sure where they are now" Oswald adds "But they're outside the hold"

"Then.... I would value any word of their return." He takes a breath.

"I'll let you know as soon as I see her return, Baron" He ponders "Is..something wrong?"

"No. No, all is well, thank you. Carry on." And August moves along to his study.

He finds Velvet putting down notes

"Squire." in greeting.

"My liege. I have notes on the various graveyards for your purusal"

"Yes, please." He welcomes her in and orders tea.

And so he gets his reports, over tea!
