"Damn it" A scowl

He's just too angry to fight properly, he's only beating on targets

August arrives for his daily workout.

"Oh, hello, Baron" He bows

"Hello, Tylar. No rush, please. I am not quite ready."

"Me neither" He says glumly

That gives him pause. "Is all well?"

"Not really, Baron" He shrugs "I just... well, it's nothing you did"

"I am happy to listen, if nothing else." He offers.

"I'm sorry, Baron... I.. I broke up with Velvet. "

He immediately looks all the more deeply concerned. "Tylar... I'm sorry. Are you alright? Is she?"

"Not really. My stomach hurts and I'm angry at the world, and I feel let down and I can't focus"

"She's probably fine" A huff

"Would it help to spar with me?"

"No no.. I don't think so , Baron. I'm too angry and if I got a lucky hit in and actually hurt you I'd feel like dirt, and if I sucked and embarrased myself with sloppy fighting, I'd just get embarrassed"

A gentle smile. "That is fair."

"A walk?"

"I could do a walk." A nod

August stows his gear, and they walk.

He does like wise and soon is talking "I just... I was going to jog wit ha mortal friend of mine ,instead of having morning time with her. The guy is TRYING to get in shape, and he's scared of doing it alone. Anxieties and all.. so I offered. I figured she'd understand, but she got huffy, and insulting to overweight people and I'm like 'do I even know her?'"

"Oh dear." August say sympathetically.

"I told her she was being cruel and selfish and then she kind of doubled down and I.. I broke up with her. It's for the best..." but he does not sound sure

August walks without speaking for a time; clearly he takes this seriously and is thinking about it.

"Squire, of course I understand your point of view in this. I believe what you were doing was worthy and righteous. I... wonder if it was the -way- you did it that might have a part in the current situation."

"What, it's my fault?"

"Such things are rarely the fault of only one person." he points out.

"My stomach hurts" he says grumbling "I don't know.. I mean, I was overweight myself. I found her insensitivy alarming"

"Did she know that?"

"Yes," grumbly then "though I didn't mention it often"

August nods, understanding and non-judgmental. "I don't suppose she ever had to deal with that issue."

"I don't think so" He admits "She is on the twiggy side"

"How do you think that would sound to her?"

"Mean, so Idon't say it to her" he nods

"And if she knew you thought it?"

"I LIKE the way she looks" he says with afrown

He nods again. They walk.

"I don't mean to pry, but do you usually spend morning time together?"

"We try to" he says "three times a week. most sluagh aren't morning people but she doesn't mind, and it's quieter arond here in the early morning. She likes the quiet"

August nods and walks with him, and lets Tylar think and walk with him as well.

Tylar sighs "So she might have felt she was having something special torn away?"

"I would not wish to say what she was feeling."

"But i should have asked? I .. maybe"

"Maybe." he agrees.

"I ...she really hurt me, you know? It felt like she spat on what i try to do as a Liam, as a boggan and a person"

"I do understand, yes."

"Now i wonder if I was the jerk"

"I do understand that, as well."
