Leonora seeks out August, her nostrils flaring

She looks for him here, she looks for him there

She could find him at his mortal residence; it's WFH Friday.

(As Benny would be able to, and would,
tell her.)

In that case, his mortal residence gets a knock on the door

It takes a moment, but August answers. He's dressed in slacks, shirt, and tie but his feet are bare. "Hello, Leonora? This is a pleasant surprise, come in."

"Don't give me that, how dare you play political games with your own knights, baron or not, it's a Fiona hold." She points a finger she is livid "I can't believe it, YOU of all people would do this"

His jaw drops. "Ahhhhhh.... pardon?" weakly.

"you heard me, did you think the boggans wouldn't buzz about an arranged marriage??"

"What......?"

"Wait... wait.... is this about Dame Temerity?"

"Only one of your most loyal and exhuberant knights. SHe'd leap into fire for you, and It's incredibly unlike you to take advantage of that for poltiics! "

"I didn't!"

"I mean you must have your reasons, but if the banner house is that desperate you should have asked for help! We would have dug up heaven and earth to help you, and you cheap out by becoming a policial Pim-" She stops "You.. didn't?"

"Your instinct was correct, Leonora. I didn't even -suggest- an arranged marriage. She spoke of it but... I thought it was part of her Kith's weakness."

"Oh.. oh" She flushes beautifully "Ah, well, holy shit. We sidhe are not supposed to screw social interactions up this badly. But, the rumors are... I mean, the boggans know it's about a pooka and THEY Believe it"

"I haven't heard anything." he says gently and to no great surprise; he famously avoids gossip. August stands away from the door "Will you come in?"

"Yes, sorry" SHe says 'Do you take shoes off in here or?"

"Entirely up to you." he closes the door behind them "Can I get you something to drink?" Mind you, she knows where everything is, having been an intimate guest here many times.

"A soda would be fine. I normally might ask for wine, but let's not muddle my already confused brain any. " She does take her shoes off

He goes to the kitchen and there's the sound of ice and glass and fizz....

And he comes back with an iced tea and a cola.

"Please, let's sit. Will you tell me what is going on?"

She does and sits with him "Well besides making a fool of myself? SKuttlebuttt is, you're seeking a marriage of alliance and gain for Temerity. That she is wiling and able to accept this."

A sigh. "That is... in broad strokes and with a grain or so of salt... what I think she was saying last night."

"And you agreed?" A blink "And why would she DO that" She sips

"I did -not- agree, no." firmly "I'm afraid I'm the worst person in the Dreaming to tell you why a pooka does anything."

"Well it's got the boggans fooled and while they love their gossip, they read into the heart of things"

"Well what do the boggans think should be done?" he asks with a rare sense of irritation.

"I think they're more into talking about the problem than finding the solution. Sorry. "

A frustrated exhale, and he rakes his hair away from his face.

"I suppose I could ask.... no, nevermind. That could be a disaster. I'll go back and talk to her."

"Maybe get another pooka to help you? They can get even themselves talking"

"They can, but I can't think of anyone I'd feel comfortable asking."

"VInce? he's a sweetie"

"No. I thought of him first but no."

"Shallimar is grateful for you proving his innocence"

"No, that wouldn't work either." he sighs "She's my knight. I'll talk to her."

"Okay and..sorrry I came in arrows blazing"

A gentle smile. "Leonora, you're a close and trusted friend. What kind of friend would I be to slam the door in your face when you come to me with a percieved injustice?"

"One who understandibly doesn't like being accused of something he didn't do," She strokes his face "You're a wonderfulman. AND very sexy"

"Ah." he pinks lightly, a rose blush "Thank you."

"Would you like me to massage your shoulders, and .. then see how it goes?" Coaxing

"Ahhh... well, I was, ah, working. The internship, you know. Ah. For a few hours more, anyway."

"A break could give you a fresh start" She offers "or, if you prefer? I could sleep here for an hour two and after my nap, when you're done, you wake me with a kiss"

A soft smile. "You know where the kitchen and playroom are, please make yourself comfortable? Coradel will be home tonight, as well. Perhaps you will have dinner with us?"

"I would be happy to be had...for dinner, by both of you" She gets up, and walks, a bit of a promise in her walk

His gaze lingers for a moment before he sighs and gets back to his probono work.

Doing the right thing is hard

Still. It is his duty. And his passion, so back to work he goes.
