The first thing one might want to do is decide who will be in charge while Coradel and August are 'out'

"There's the possibility they'll wish to summon Hume along as well, after we arrive" Coradel muses aloud. "I'll let Delores know she's in charge."

The two are currently in their bedroom, showered and dressing up

Coradel has finished with her shower and is preening with her hair.

August, typically, dressed quickly, efficiently, and with minimal fuss; clean, shaved, and serviceable in belted pants, a shirt with 'poet' sleeves, and boots.

He doesn't protest the plan; he tucks a couple books and some supplies in a shoulder-slung bag for the trip.

She looks over at him. "You'll want to bring something more courtly, as well. Hmm...I'll have some of the boggans pack it nicely for us." She stands, wearing her very stylish travel clothes, her hair flowing perfectly.

A knock on their door, "Steward Delores here. I was sent for?"

"You.... really want me at your meeting with the Duke and Duchess? Not just in the area?" dubious.

She pauses, about to answer him, then turns to the door with a smile. "Come in, Delores! Your timing is, as ever, perfect."

"One tries, how may I assist?" Delores curtseys

"Well, first, I'd like your staff to pack up some court garb for us..." and she rattles off in familiar shorthand form a few select outfits, "...and of course, the Baron's court garb, just in case."

"Oh, of course" She nods "Fortunately this season some of your best styles are in vogue"

"Yes, isn't that lovely!" Beaming agreement. "And I'd like you to be in charge in our absence," she adds easily.

"I'm honored. How long should i expect you to be about, should anyone inquire?'

"Ohh...two days? Three? Unless there's a delay."

"All handled" She assures and sorts through court garb, picking out this and than for them both

August waits patiently.

And soon, even with witnesses, their clothes for the half week are prepared and packed

"Thank you, Delores!" She takes August's arm as Delores gets to work. "Please have those sent along." And she draws August out of the room so Delores can putter more efficiently.

August is easily led.

Of course, transportation is a consideration. Can Bachdion accommodate?

August is perfectly willing to drive....

Bachdion can if they like "My pleasure. If you like" when asked

.... and is agreeable to that, too.

Coradel honestly hadn't even considered driving as an option, it seems. "Oh! Oh, yes, let's drive there. Thank you, Bachdion, anyway." She gives the satyr a fond kiss on the cheek.

"Ah, even better. Couple time"

"Yes!" She squeezes August's arm. Then, "Oh, Bachdion, I want Delores in charge while we're away. If there's any question about that, please let people know I confirmed it with you."

August, ever ready, has his keys and all other necessaries for a car trip.

And...they're off!

The backseat is stocked with luggage, gifts, and of course a hamper that Delores couldn't let them leave without; sandwiches, drinks, fruit, and a few desserts.

"Oh, thank you, Delores!" Coradel says happily to the non-present boggan. "Driver picks the tunes," she defers to August as she gets into the passenger seat.

He smiles. "Shotgun manages the radio." he defers.

"Radio?" She makes a dismissive sound and accesses tunes on her phone connected with the Bluetooth in the car. Some of her favorite driving music jumps from the speakers as they get moving.

He smiles as he drives; it's not necessarily his style of music, but he enjoys her pleasure in it, so that's ok.

Some of his preferred tunes do make the cut now and then.

the drive is pleasant, the weather kind, traffic steady even when it is not as light as they might like

They tend to classical music, and likely make the cut for her playlist in the form of 'reimagined' classical; today's music played orchestrally, or classics treated to pop renditions.

Which suits him fine.

And the reverse -- Two Cellos "Thunderstruck" cover gets in there.

He seems to enjoy that.

The next 30 minutes or so is relaxing, nice, a chance for a couple to enjoy the road and each other... up ahead they see a hitch hiker...

(Pause)

"August, slow down a bit." Coradel takes in the hitch hiker's appearance as they get closer.

"Mm." He was doing so even as she spoke, either out of safety or concern.

(What does he look like, Mr. D?)

It looks like a the hiker has antlers but also rabbit ears... kind of. he's ddefinitely a changeling

"Oh! Oh, August, it's a pooka. Let's pick him up. Pull over."

"Are... you sure?" he's pulling over even as he speaks "I can see he's Fae but... antlers and ears like that?"

"Well, let's find out!"
