The Carnival at Earthrunes was a smash! Mad Science seemed to be a theme, or just plain Sci FI. Thank goodness for Boggans spreading the word, or many not in the know would have been caught off guard by this!

Most impressive is the displays.... it seems every section of the hold to be used for the holiday has a slightly different vibe. One hallway might resemble an elongated Tardis, another more like a section from the Enterprise. One area had been adjusted that may delight the sluagh. A hidden fog machine works it's wonder on one area that is meant to resemble Victorian london, with false business fronts for such things as ''Dr. Jekyll's office" , or in that corner, HG wells Time Machine.

Oswald, of course, completely forgot he was a mere thane, and inserted himself in on the designs to help Hume and others 'get it right' leading Hume to wonder if, as heir, he could put the troll into a garbage compactor. But it turned out okay, and the idea of offering free childling sized toys that look and sound lilke lightsabers was a good one to keep them younger set happy

As Carnival is topsy-turvy, however, Oswald is sporting a Star Trek uniform, while Emma is dressed as Leia.

Oswald endured this, but he did keep one of the toy lightsabers for himself. Also, he looks pretty good in a star trek outfit

Emma certainly thinks so.

The real question is ,did she put him in pointy years?

Emma would probably even concede to the bikini for him

Trolls are terrible hypocrites. .He probably hinted he'd like if she wore the bikini Under her ambassadorial robes... that way they could play universal cross over where spock must protect Leia from the Orion Syndicate which has been hired by the Imperials to stop her very important mission.

But you know, whatever she wants... he just sort of fell into a fan fic Larp hole there

LARPing is for AFTER the party.

"Fascinating" he says with a light blush

The pooka is enjoying this.

And there is much to enjoy, compliments for the topsy turvy fflip of the franchises abound, for all know Oswald loves Star wars , and the last person to challenge Emma for Star Trek trivia ended up in full retreat. Leonora is dressed as a post apocollyptic survivor, and gives a thumbs up to the couple.

"Ah, Earth's Eugenic wars, a terrible time" Oswald says , remembering what Emma told him about the ancient lore.

It took a little practice (and only two minor temper tantrums) before Coradel was able to get the hoverboard to do what she wanted it to do, and now she's gliding around the party, decked out like the automaton from Metropolis and serving drinks from a tray.

Claire is on guard as a Klingon.

Meanwhile the queen of Carnival, an old woman smiles "I can' believe I'm inn Space. I rremember the moon landing, you know"

The automaton coasts to a stop by the throne and passes the Queen a tall glass that has chimerical rings orbiting it. "Impossible, your majesty! You are far too young for that!"

"Would that itt were, darling. I ca ell you, there wasn't a woman in America who didn't find astronauts sexy for a time"

"Did you ever catch yourself an astronaut, Majesty?"

"No, but I did have two airline pilots at the same time" She whispers

"And I think that should COUNT for something" She adds

The automaton's eyes widen for a moment with appreciation (thought she might secretly be amused about the woman's amateur status)...and she hands the Carnivale Queen another drink and gives her a deep bow. "It counts for a great deal, Majesty!"

"Maybe even one astronaut" She drinks

"Did you ever wish to be an astronaut yourself, Majesty?"

"Oh yes.. b ack in my day even airlines didn't have many female pilots. A woman was either a passenger orr a stewardess. being an astronaut was.. oh a nice dream "

"Well, isn't it lucky that you finally made it to space!" The automaton gestures broadly at the surrounding party.

She looks around "Yes, I... I'm really here" And she believes it "Dancing among Orion's belt maybe? A world of peoples different yet alike. "

She pops witth optimistic wonder in glamour form

Robot eyes gleam with delight.

"so, here in space, there's hope?" She looks about

"Perhaaaaaps," she says, spinning slowly to scan the room. "Shall I recruit some potential astronaut, Majesty?"

"Oh my" she laughs "Tha would't be bad. At all"

"I'm on the mission, Majesty!" And she goes zipping away! It may take a bit of Fiona enthusiasm and persistence, but she will find an astronaut (or two) to tend to the Carnivale Queen!
