Zara sips her tea, it is a nice tea, well prepared, but... it is not Ivanka's tea. She knows the difference. Zara's tea is best, Ivanka knows just how she likes it and there for is second best. Delores is quite good (Not that the steward does it often), and then there is this. Which is, adequate.

She had been working on house plans, looking up lay outs of the dream Victorian. SO when she found the tea waiting for her she thought it thoughtful, and it was. Still, this is not her usual

A slow sip, taking time and care to study its qualities.

Touch of.. lime rather than lemon or honey?

Could have used 50 seconds more steeping. Yes, a sluagh's tastebuds are THAT Precise, at least when coupled with Lore Tea 5

Her ears prick, listening for a heartbeat, a baited breath, a shift of fabric...

No, whoever did this is not here, or even lingering in the library.

However, a part of Bronte's hoard is missing.

There is a library book missing from the fiction romance section. The missing book like a gap in a normally toothy smile. This is fine, except, no one has checked it out.

This is firmly against the rules. One is supposed to take a book, then sign it out on the ledger. The honor system has worked quite well. Even Shallimar respects it

Bronte dozes fitfully. Perhaps even in her sleep she recognizes something has been taken without proper methods followed. Bookwyrms are very fussy about their hoards

Narrow eyes.

She goes over to sniff at the shelf.

She can't quite place the scent.

But the romance book was by Talia, you know, that talented yet mysterious author who only came out once for an auction?

Hmm.

She knows that book. (She knows all her books)

Perhaps a quick scry is in order...

Bronte perks 'mmph?" She scowls "By the pricking of my thumb... " she leaves the rest hanging

The scry IS quick... there is a piskie in a hammock reading her book. Zara has trouble placing the girl, close to Velvet's age. Very lovely, for a kith known for blending.

She blushes as she reads

Of course a piskie.

She knows they can't help it...

but...

The piskie is dressed as a maid? mmm shoes off though. Perhaps on a break

It is difficult to ken through a tattletale, and yet, Zara feels... there is magic on the girl

she needs to be in person to ken more details, but it feels familiar..soothsay of some sort? Not the girl's doing either

Well, field trip!

The field trip is not far, in this very hold in fact. The piskie's room is.. not a bed room, but more of a small bonus room that has yet to have storage put in it. Unusual...

Then again, do the officials even know if she is here? Piskies blend in, after all.

And that explains much. As Zara peeks in, she notices a satchel, flickering with faint magic... and nothing else. The girl seems to be using the rooom, but not hers. SHe may even wander from room to room every few nights resetting up her position.

Currently she reads on, and blushes "Oh... but how will he ever see how much she cares for him if she is too afraid to voice her feelings? but then.. oh sting of rejection if she should and it be unrequited. Damn you, Talia... this best have a happy ending"

Unaware that 'Talia' can hear her complaint

Zara kenns the bag more closely. treasure?

Definitely, and she suspects the satchel has something of a Mary Poppins bag effect, not infinite, mind you, but possible able to hold as much as a small closet

"Oh how ever is she to choose?" A bite of her lips. The sweet pain, the drama of heart risk

"Ah, but that answer is for official library patrons only." A whisper to break the quiet.

Most gratifying, the girl eeps, and nearly, NEARLY falls out of the hammock, only her kith's agileness saving her.. she hangs there for a moment and looks over "Ah, Miss Zara? Can I get you something?"

"Clearly, you forgot to sign out the book. Absent-minded, mmm?"

"oh? OH!" She blushes furiously, "Terribly sorry, Miss Zara! I .. well, it just happened, you know? It feel into my hands and I got so caught up in work that.. well, piskieness happened, terribly sorry. I was going to return it but then I.." A blush "I made the mistake of reading it..and got hooked"

The girl has soothsay magic on her alright. Someone has done a working

Who did a working?

"Well, you may finish it IF!" Upheld finger. "IF you sign it out on the ledger."

Who is unknown, that would take an omen or a willowhisper on the working itself

"I'll go right away," She carefully puts a bookmark where it was and slips shoes on "Thank you, Miss Zara. Oh did you like the tea? Ivanka has a sick day"

"It was unique, thank you for the thought and care."

As she follows the piskie back to the Library, that is exactly what she does - working a silent, complex pattern with her fingers to bunk an omen on the cantrip itself.

Tricky tricky, even for one of her training and power. She's been omening since she was a childling mind, it may have been her first cantrip now that she thinks on it..or was that.. ah never mind. The point is, she knows it well...
