Wish seems delighted to take in the view sounds and scent as they ride

Samson moves along trying not to let the pretty mare throw him off too much

"I hope your day went well? You seemed tired when you arrived." August breaks the silence.

As it seems that the horses are evenly matched in pace, Coradel reaches out to take August's hand. "It was not a bad day. There was merely a lot of it. There was a line at the campus bookstore, which was tedious. And then a two hour lecture of things I already know."

He smiles shyly at her. "How're the stables at school?"

She tells him, covering the horses she's already mentioned to him in the past, and some of the new arrivals who came with new students, and their particular quirks. "Samson will be coming with me tomorrow for a few days," she adds, leaning forward to pat her steed's neck.

At this Samson makes happy noises

And Wish.. snneakily, tries to pick up the pace just a bit

"Hey now...."

Coradel notes this and gently urges Samson to keep up.

"And how was your day?" she asks August. "Besides meeting your new friend here?"

Wish somehow manages to look just a bit contrite

"Well enough. Tylar is interested in earning his spurs, but Velvet prefers not to."

"I think she takes after Zara's lead, there."

A gentle smile. "Perhaps."

"What do you think he must do to earn them?" This time she clicks her tongue, and releases August's hand as Samson moves into a trot.

August focuses on adjusting to the new gait for a moment.

"That is an excellent question." he admits "Do... would you have any suggestions?"

"Not yet," she says. "But you must be willing to put him in a position where his safety is at risk, in order to do something that benefits others. Can you do that, my love? To help him earn those spurs?"

August nods gravely. "I will."

"Then I will try to think of options."

They ride on, testing out Wish's paces, Samson happy to show off his own strides.

Samson makes a request... maybe Wish would like to go faster? he's no bragart but .. he'd like to show how fast he can go to her?

It's a request of ears position and body language but it's there

Wish looks intrigued

August doesn't read 'horse' as well as Coradel might.

"You may want to hold on, my love," Coradel advises him as she notes the exchange of ear-language.

"I, ah, I am....."

And Samson goes from trot, to gallop

"Oh." August adjusts his seat when he sees Samson take off.

Wish seeing this gives August a look as if to say 'trust me, sir. i ggot this' and takes off after
