"I'll admit, it was very gratifying that the people of EarthRunes closed ranks against them, even if I was not their ruler that night."

"Aye, but you were our Fool."

A fond smile. "Thank you for that." She pauses a moment. "So...I should be satisfied and leave it at that." A sip of tea that seems to indicate this isn't likely.

"Mmm. It is bad luck to seek retribution for aught performed during Carnival..."

"Though... their slander was ere the holiday began..."

"Oh, I am quite satisfied regarding their behavior against me. But...now I know who they are...and whom they have harmed in the past...."

She nods. "It is troubling, that they sought August out after so long."

"It seems I have been forgotten... which, well, is quite satisfactory."

"Hm. I was going to ask whether you thought you might be a target as well. So. Then you are still a hidden quantity, to them."

"More a nonentity." She shrugs.

"Well...as far as they know. For now."

"And exactly as it should be. They are dreadfully boring."

"August has specifically asked me to do nothing. But if they intend harm against him or you...I would be willing to support reasonable countermeasures."

"It may be they go home with their proverbial tails between their legs... but I can watch."

"Yes, that might be wise. I wonder if they'll arrive home clothed? I know that August kept their belongings for later return. They have been cleaned and put away safely. Somewhere."

"Oh, he would."

Coradel grins slightly at that tone of frustration. She knows it well. And she finishes her tea. "Well, maybe he will have more to tell me when he wakes later. He did, after all, have a very long night escorting the monarchs."

"Well, Miss Zara, thank you." She rises. "You've reminded me of some of what August had told me in the past, and added a bit more I did not know. I appreciate it. And now....I think I am about to quest for breakfast." A smile and she moves to the door.

"True. I am glad he found you, Coradel."

She turns at that, a blink. "That...means a great deal, from you. Thank you." And a deep, true curtsy.

Hand to her chest. "Do enjoy your day, Baroness."

She rises again, "You, as well, Miss Zara." And she departs.
