August clears his throat.

A glance back at August. "My love?"

"A word with you, tonight, perhaps before bed. Please." mildly.

"Ah, yes, Please DO ask Claire. She'd want to tell you if only one us can"

A brief, soft smile to August. "As you wish."

Then a quick double-take at Magnus...and suddenly she's all but swooping out of the room. Claire is certain to get a visitor in short order.

Magnus looks at August and whispers "Claire's pregnant, but if I told mom before Claire did, Claire would cut me open"

August jolts, spilling his wine. "What?!?!"

"Hey.. the desk" He wipes

And grins like a fool

"What???" August turns, staring at Magnus.

""We're having a baby" A grin "Okay, CLAIRE is the one having it, but I get half credit anyway. Great system that"

August sits, staring. "You're......"

"I am pregnant adjacent' He says proudly

His wine glass dangles dangerously from his fingertips. "Magnus.... are you sure?"

"It would explain my mood swings"

"The pregnancy test is positive, the omens are positive. yes, I'm positive" he adds

"Are... is she well? Are you ok with ....??"

"Yes, yes... I'm grand, she's grand"

"It's... such a responsibility...."

"Oh yeah, I try not to think about that or I'll shit my pants." He says getting some wine for himself

"How... Magnus how will you manage it?"

"How? I .."

"Well, I just will. I do have a job. Privae investigator"

August nods slowly. "Of course."

August stands, carefully sets the wine glass down. "Magnus.... congratulations. Sincerely." He offers his hand.

He takes it "Also, Claire's got her own job so.. well, as long as we can. Don't worry, we'll get by"

"You know Coradel and I will help however we can, yes?"

"You two look after yourselves. And.. hopefullhhy when she learns this will distract her from the namer thing"

A slight smile. "Momentarily; but she might not bring it up again for your sake."

"We'll see. " And the two have a bit more wine
