Overnight, the library has.... bloomed?

Lilac mushrooms stand in scattered groups, sheltering by the feet of desks and armchairs. Shy lily-of-the-valley peek under the card catalog. Silver-faced moonflowers twine along the curtainrods.

Evening primrose lines the hallway leading to the door, and the perfume of night jasmine hangs in the air.

Quatre, the romantic, has climbed into a datura blossum to dream. Silly spider.

Oh how some of her more sensible sisters lament!

They are missing out! 1122, however, is a supportive gentleman. HE understands romance. Cue flamenco guitar riff! 🌹

Velvet enters in to do some chores and looks about. She looks a bit wigged out ,and slowly backs out on the same spots she stepped in. No one is going to blame HER for this.

Vince pops his head in, and sniffs appreciatively at the flowers. "Pity that they are not catnip..." He laments before moving on, a sprig of jasmine tucked behind one ear.

August enters the library hours later, finding his way by habit and feel since his nose is in a book.

His nose.....

He sniffs, and looks puzzled.

The young Sidhe Lord looks.... around.

He backs up, holding his place in the pages with a finger, and looks around at the hallway outside, and at the door way.

He comes back in, looking around, his forehead creased.

He stands in the beflowered library for a few moments.... then backs out, and finds another spot to read in.

August pauses at the whisper of a sound. He peeks back in. "Zara?" he whispers back.

"August, hello." A smile.

"I am afraid I did not get a full tea service..." A moment of concern. Indeed - she doesn't have a dainty cup, but a larger insulated one.

Well, Bronte might be surprised to see how a princess can get tied up by a highwayman and somehow enjoy the experience

He jerks a bit and looks around behind him in the hallway. "Oh. Ah. Hello. No, no, that's fine. Ah. Have you.... been in the library today?"

"Not yet, in truth. I was watching Earl paint up in the garret..."

"Ah. Well. There have, ah, been some changes. I'm sorry, I don't know what's going on but... ahhh....." He opens the door wider and offers to take the tea mug from her if she wishes.

She looks, and blinks. "Oh.. my. A night garden?"

He is peering in as well. "It seems so?"

"I'm sure we can talk to Healer Emma, ask how best to remove them."

"Oh, why remove them? How lovely. If this is a pooka prank, tis a delightful one." She leans to sniff a flower.

"You.... don't mind?"

"I think I like it." A soft smile - oh, she's floating still, stars in her eyes.

August blinks, watching her. "Then.... it should stay." softly.

"Aye." Happy sigh.

"You seem........" he trails off.

Leo is oblivious to soft conversations at the door. Oh the princess has fire, the highwayman likes that. This will be a clash of wills as well as a building of desire. Flip page

"I seem?" She floats over to check on her ladies - at least the ones who are at the forefront. Others are either out and about or hidden away.

"....different? Not in a bad way."

"Well, I have been in a pleasant mood."

"You have." August confirms, bemused.

"Has something in specific triggered this mood?"

"Mmm.." August knows that smile. This cat has had all the cream.

He chuckles. "Yes, and it is a secret."

"Aye, and aye." She sparkles.

"I will respect it." he promises.

"You will learn of it, in time."

"I look forward to learning what has made my dear friend so happy." he says.
