"That is Bronte. She is a bookwyrm, and a guardian of the library. And aye, she is fond of poetry. If you bring her a new book, she shall likely love you forever."

"Oh she's into chemistry textbooks?" A stroke along the scales. "Do you like to watch water Boyle? Got a Curie for what ails you? I might know some old books that might be put out to Pasteur"

Bronte preens. “The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”

"Oo ... a study buddy" Zing says, then looks to Zara "Oh..o oo" Wince "you're one of the creeple people. And i've been screaming this whole time"

Apparently someone told her about sluagh in the 'intro to fae' class, but she had not met one yet

Blink. "Ah... creeple people?" A pause, gathering dignity. "I am a sluagh, aye, and the Librarian. Shushing, you see, is doubly in my nature."

"yes, sorry, normally I'm mute" she says and does look a bit shy "it's just.. this is so utterly mundane"

"Well, tea shall help with that." Utter assurance as she offers out a cup.

"Merci Bow cup" She says and takes it, speaking quieter now

a gentle proper knock on the door

Since said door is not closed.. per se, Zara can see it is Ivanka with a tray

"Lady Ivanka! Have you a moment to join us? We are celebrating today."

"I fear I have duties to attend to, Miss Zara, sadly, but knowing this week would be special," Ivanka brings the tray forward "so I had this ready." Thirteen tiny oragmi cats made of delicate black cloth adorn the tray, and a tiny moldy cake in the shape of an open umbrella within four walls. The tray has tiny cracks, and on the cracks are popcorn pieces of various sorts , thirteen pieces 'steppping' on 13 cracks

"Happy Thirteenth" Ivanka says

Zara claps, dark eyes sparkling. "Delightful!"

"In china, the number Pi is feared" Zing observes

"I'm so sorry, Miss Zing. I didn't know you would be here. I see you have tea, I can fetch you a small treat less... sluagh ready?"

"I never say no to ricecake, particularly if the rice cake is made of chocolate?" Zing asks

"Not everyone quite has a taste for food properly aged."

"One chocolate cupcake" Ivanka says to the new fledge, then smiles at Zara demurely "Yes, Miss Zara. I am but blooded and even I'm surprised what perfectly fine food people throw away.Wasteful. I hope you enjoy this set up. If you like I can make it a regular thing. Friday the 13th is special to myself as well. Though my celebration will be later tonight"

"Aye? I hope it is a good one."

The spiders sisters continue to enjoy their popcorn and talk among themselves , in a mannerly fashion for the most part.

A few explore the tray

"I'm sure it will be. I'll be feeding the rats at this park bench under the moon. There's a grate they peep up from and if one is very patient, they start to snitch"

"Fantastic. May you learn many secrets."

"And you, I understand Miss Velvet will be attending to the library for a week? Are there any cleaning duties you wish me to augment or decline? extra lint for the dust bunnies?"

"Lint for the bunnies, and Bronte may fuss."

"Of course she will," Ivanka says "I'll make a note to the steward that a new book should be brought to her every other day to soothe her nerves" her job done,she curtsys "if there's nothing else?"

"No, thank you Miss Ivanka."

"My pleasure. Welcome to Earth Runes, Miss Zing" And hand over heart, the sluagh kinian goes onto other duties.

If Deloresd doesn't make her permanent, Violet and Zara may have a revolt, a quiet one to be sure

Quiet, but determined!

"So, she's more people than cree-" Zing catches herself "Sloo ah"

"I..." She stops as one of the sisters explores her hand. She winces a bit but holds steady "uhm.. your friend seems to be going to palm springs"

"Nova shan't bring harm. She is very gentle."

"Oo.. is it.. "A guess "the 13th?"

Zara nods, the corners of her eyes crinkling in a smile.

"Was it.. and I'm just using my ESP.. a Friday?" A smile

"Mayhaps!"

"10 for 10" Zing says and sips her tea

"So you see, how can I not celebrate?"

"I see...and the skitter critters are surely enjoying" She notes the spider and sips more tea, then looks apologetic "ah, bit gothic for my taste"
