she looks a WEE bit embarrassed "may haps I spent too much time in the Dreaming. I was quite sure all was punchable if one kept enough grit in their diet"

"Should... should I go?"

The mouse pooka sips the drink to hide her blush

"Well, mon frer, you might be the cavalry."

"Crooked men are more predominant in the Autumn."

The Pooka features are more concrete now as the gray melts away with a glow from the cup

Yup. She's a mouse girl..er woman, with armor that, well, isn't TOO shiney right now but beter "Ah blast, who'd have expected a healer to try to tend? Treachery most fuzzy!" She looks at Emma to make sure Emma isn't too low on glamour herself now

THen she looks over at Adam "I am in thine debt until the third age of reckoning, young lord"

"HE is a Son of Man."

"Phil Collins would be proud" A nod

"I, uh... just the Escheat, right?"

"Well, a curve to a crooked man?"

"Ah, his education IS well rounded" She nods at Emma's comment, but she looks over at Adam "JUST the Escheat? Was Cleopatra JUST a queen with a great asp? Was Joan of arc JUST a franophile? The Escheat is our best chance for peace since Bablyon 5"

She shakes her head before Adam can answer that "Nay, Lad. If it were easy to do what is right, anyone would do it. The hard is what makes it Hanks. I will remember when books are written by rabbits"

The boy looks... completely baffled. Lost.

However weird her words, the mouse pooka offers a free hand as if to shake

Adam takes, and shakes.

"If the Snidely Whiplash is demanding the rent, we need a sharp-jawed Hero, don't we?"

The shake shifts to a wrist clasp "Like Warriors are methodists, Sirrah"

"Like.... what?"

And then she sakes it, then a nod to Emma "Aye. I shall get my jaw squareifier and try again"

A stubborn set to her look

"Is that...." then Adam shuts up.

"The wrist shake is an ancient gesture of many cultures warrior to warrior meant to show great respect. " The pooka says "First discovered by Klingons searching for sleeve knives"

"Yeah?"

"Non, no no no."

"YOU are taking a siesta."

She jabs at Adam's jaw. "Does this look round to you?"

Adam dodges, puts up his hands, but does not attack. "What??"

"Round.. in a four cornered way" Temerity pouts seeing where this is going

"What?" He looks at Emma, confused.

"She means to put you in my tights, lad, as well as my cape." Temerity sighs

"Yes, but he's an inuit!"

"Did you know that they have special blood vessels in their hands that make them ABSOLUTELY IMMUNE to ice water? I am not exaggerating at all."

"I'm sorry, look..... I want to be friends but I just don't ... I don't understand. Not quick."

"Bah, smarts is for nerds that fit in lockers" Temerity scoffs, "Fear not lad. There is a lord of lands, who is not D Victing, but E... you see? Healer Emma, ever a tyrant, thinks your nature might make you resistant to the Lord of Land's winter brochures"

And then... the mouse pooka yawns

The boy is still lost.

"Precisely, my dear Watson." She nods at Temerity.

And.. takes the now-empty glass away.

"If you dream upon it, you will understand even more."

"I shall stand guard on this bed I think" The pooka lays her head down "No one save the world without me"

"She needs rest." Adam hones in.

"Zzzz... " goes the pooka on the bed

Adam looks at the healer. "She's... .it's ok? She'll be ok?"

She wavers a hand.

"She'll need some campfire cooking."

"Can I get... ingredients? Something she needs?"
