"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you " She says "No things are well, that i know of. Coradel is still spending a lot of time teaching the cub" She looks out the dark halls where Beltaine celebrations will begin in a few hours once morning hits

August slips behind her, and holds her loosely around the waist. For a Fiona, this is a friendly gesture; for August, it is a decadent public display of physicality. "How is she coming along, do you think?"

"I like her. She's raring to go, fiesty, and probably smarter than I am when it comes to the sneaky." She enjoys the contact and pats his arm "She's getting a lesson about how we follow our ideals AND face the consequences and she got a bit whiny but that phase seems to have sealed off. Alas, my attempts to seduce her have fallen flat. I don't take it personal"

"You... ah."

"It's educational, August" she smiles

A pause. "Yes, I imagine it would be. I mean, it has been. Ah. For me."

"So I can see, ah, why you would.... offer."

"Truth to tell I didn't try too hard...she doesn't have the spitcurl that does it for me"

A moment of silence behind her, and a soft, amused, snort.

A dazzling smile back at him over her shoulder "I'm not sure what to make of her boyfriend.. he seems a troll's troll. Stuffy, reserved, only big difference is he's big on shapechanging and uses big words"

"I don't think we have met. And, I know Captain Waveborn more by reputation than familiar experience. However, I'm hardly the best choice as a tutor for her, so that is probably all to the good."

"Well, you have been teaching her how to improve her scripting she says"

"She's got better penmanship?"

"I have offered a few suggestions. Yes, she is improving."

"I dont' knwo if she's coming to Beltaine here, or Rivervale. For a 'come sail away' type the ties on her are strong"

"She is fortunate to have family."

"I suppose. I mean, I love my dad... but there may come a time when Fiona calls and she'll need to be away for a year or so." A pause "Well, maybe not... I visit my dad every month like clockwork"

"I should visit mine more often but... the distance is impossible to explain. But I do write."

"I'm sorry" She kisses his cheek "I know they are proud of you doing this lawyer future plan"

He nods, shrugs a little. "I might not try the Bar. Paralegal is... a lot."

"Well, knowing you, you'll go for the folks who need help, not the ones that pay big" She gives him a squeeze "And that's you all over"

He nods. "Yes, that is my plan."

"And don't be intimidated by a 'lot' I've met some lawyers that are living proof their reputation of intelligence is over rated."

"If some of those numbnuts can do it, so can you" She observes

"Thank you?" wryly.

A giggle "I Know I know.. hell of a motivation speech"

"While I'd practice, either as a paralegal or lawyer, with mortals I would also work within our Fae society. At least, that was what I thought I would do."

"It's a good dream" SHe nods

He nods, chin gently rubbing on her shoulder from behind.

She leans into it "Nice"

"What about you? How are you doing in all this, Leonora?"

"Oh.. do you mean am I going to college ? Not yet. Dad wants me too"

"I will admit, it's been wonderful with Coradel in school too, and having something to study that she enjoys as much as she does."

"She's having a blast with the subject huh?" A grin happy to hear it

"Most of it." His voice warms to the topic.

"If you went, what would you want to study?"

"I don't know.. " She says "College is 'a lot'" She smiles

He smoothes some hair behind her ear. "And if you don't go to college... what next? How will you maintain Ignorance before the mundane world?" Gently.

"Plently of trust fund brats in the mundane world" She says

"They find causes. Ways to occupy themselves. Facades."

"I do the charity thing" She says "One of the few things I enjoyh is making rich people pay 800 dollars a plate at some function"

"I don't know, August. What d oyou think would interest me from what you know of me?"

He releases her enough to turn her to face him, looking into her eyes.

"It bothers me that I am not sure."

"It shouldn't." She says

"It should. It does."

"I should know you better than that."

"You enjoy the hunt, and archery. Precious little application in the mundane world for that. We have gone to fashion shows together; you have a keen eye for that. And you do well with animals."

"oh August" She says "I took the body of a vain ingrateful little snot who had no interests beyond fashion, shopping, and lording it over little people. The hunting, archery? that came to me with training and memory of my arcadian days and training in Ireland. What I'm saying is, the girl who was here? She had precious little application in the mundane world"

"Perhaps that's why you came." A sigh. "One of the great unanswered mysteries...."
