Coradel remembers the advice her Steward gave on how to pass the time while her trueheart was questing.

"Clean house" Delores advised.

And Coradel realizes she didn't mean in just the domestic sense.

There are small projects, redesigns of rooms, new art to put up, furniture to try!

In the hold and in her new home with August alike!

And, in a fit of activity that would do a boggan proud (And Coradel did spent soem time as a boggan once), The Fiona Baroness begins to change things to occupy her time!

Some of these tapestries are lovely...but some are merely adequate and could be improved upon. And something about that table has always bothered her. It's the right height to put a drink on, but an inconvenient location...perhaps it belongs....hmmm...there?

Rollo and Oswald lift the table, and move it 'there' while some of the serving staff starts to take the tapestries down

Delores stays by her side, and makes notes "Is there a style of tapestry you'd prefer, my liege?"

There's actually a sense of relief to all this. This is something she can control! And that ..well, it suits her sidhe soul, a little, of course. But more than that, while August is beyond her aid now, This? THIS she can make just so.

Coradel considers Delores's question. "Well...I'd like to see some that reflect the good works of this barony...so...scenes of combat and victory and...justice, perhaps." A sigh. "It would be lovely to have tapestries commissioned of our actual works. Do we have an artisan who could do such work?"

She adds, "We should have some Liam banners, as well....and..."

"of course... of course' she says "Your dress maker has a loom, perhaps she would like to expand? Ad some of the local boggans aren't bad at it."

A pause, then she murmurs quietly. "Delores, there are some designs I'd like to prepare, but to keep in secret."

Then the boggan nods and whispers quietly "I'll put a lock on the gossip chain. Go ahead."

Whispering back, "I will share the design with you. It must remain hidden until a later time, though."

She bows her head "Very well. I'll make sure whoever does the tapestry does not betray the design until you say. Is.. is there a particular space you want cleared for it now?"

She considers this a long moment. "There need to be two. There should be a space alongside the Fiona banner in the audience chamber. And the same over the main entrance to the mansion."

Delores takes notes "Same size, or slightly larger?"

"I...don't know." She considers this. "Same size would be a suggestion of same importance...and larger would mean greater importance."

A sigh. "Political symbolism. This is where I'm likely to get myself and others into trouble." A wry grin.

"So we're trying something new then?" Utterly straight faced as only a valued employee and good friend can be.

"I'm trying to be considerate, here!" A false pout.

"And you are" A smile breaks out

"We could replace the other one with a larger one too?"

"I want to make it the biggest banner in the whole damn place! But...that could welcome unwanted complications. I'm all for that fight...but others wouldn't be."

She bites her lip then nods "If I might suggest?"

"Please..." Relief.

"Two ideas come to mind. One, a sash or cloak can denote affiliation, membership and or partnership..and you have an excellent dress maker. Wear it, and you become the tapestry and who is going to tell you what is appropriate to wear in your own hold?" Raised double brow, "The other idea would involve ..ah adjusting thrones?"

"Sashes....Yes, I like that. And...adjusting thrones?" She smiles. "I can always trust you to see through things. Tell me more about what you're seeing."

A low voice "I can see that all my previous problems with my station are about to be nipped in the bud in a most karmic fashion" A smile though "He's off.. that's no secret. And no boggan past her first sained year could miss that your husband went from 'going along on a library trip' to sudden intesnsity and even taking charge of somethings. Dame Claire has even risked her House's wrath by sending away her own squire to keep whatever secret is at play. Then there was the proposal in the garden. No I am not spying on you, but Magnus is better at finding secrets than he is hiding them and besides, he's been back and forth with a different ring every four days or so it seemed. "

"Well...and the fact that I'm wearing the result might be a tip-off, yes," she allows.

"Well sure..." A humph and mimicing a muppet line "If you want to do it the easy way" but she has the decency to blush.

A soft laugh. "All right, yes...my goal seems pretty transparent to you."

"I'm very happy for you both, I am" A whisper "I could tell you were stressed thats whY thought redecorating would help ease the pressure. But if we're prepping? all the better." A nod "At least I think it must feel so."

"It does. It really does. Of course, I still need to make sure that the Countess sees fit to grant him his title...." she trails off abruptly and her eyes go wide. She turns to stare at Delores as if seeing her for the first time.

"Yes? "

"She...would be more inclined...or at least, even less resistant...if there were a groundswell of support for him. Or at least, a generally positive attitude towards him. Which might be done...with words and nudges in the right places...?"

A sigh "I suppose after what I Put you through, even though I didn't mean to, It would only be fair. And he has been a good mentor to Tylar, one of our own."

"He's always supporting the local Dreamers," she adds. "And he has fought for EarthRunes, time and again."

A smile "Baroness... I was there for some of it. I know, he'd want us to use the truth... and he's kind of blind to the fact that a lot of the truth of him is very shining"

A smile, tender at the thought of her trueheart. "He'd settle for nothing other than the truth, but yes, sometimes he can't seem to see the truth about himself. As if somebody's setting him up for a cruel joke."

"odd.. I was thinking how all this felt like ..oh nevermind. Beyond my station"

"No...no, I want to hear. Tell me?"

"I feel at times this barony is a chess board.. and figures are moving us... pawns and knights and queen and somehow ... great wagers are placed upon us. It scares me a little"

"Hmmm. Well...I'm willing to play the game, as long as my side wins. If that doesn't look like it's going to happen...I'll change the game." A confident smile.

"i'm very reasured" The steward says and means it "I pitty anyone playing chicken with you"

"That is because you are not a fool." A pleased sigh as she looks at the rearranging of things. "Come, let's go find a sketchpad and play with tapestry ideas."

"I like that" The two head off.
