He slumps. "Sorry, Earl. Ok." A deep breath. "So... it's a duel, then. She won't accept an apology?"

After a moment's thought, "I'd like to talk to Coradel. Can you... can you hang out a moment?"

"You can try, August, but you have to convince her that you won't ignore her station whever it's convenient for you. "

"Or, that it wasn't convenience." A deep breath.

"I told her that, but the Lady knight said that either way, it seems to be you will over ride her when ever and wherever you want because your feel you should and can without so much as a by your leave. The Lady Gwydion says that letting you go consequence free sets a bad example... that discipline must be maintained, and honor is due." He raises a brow "Do Gwydions always sound so... lecture prone by the way? Or is it just her?"

"It's not just her." Absently. "Ok. Can you give me a moment to call Coradel?"

"Of course"

They trade the phone back and forth a bit.

August slowly thumbs the disconnect icon and puts the phone away slowly. "Make.... make the deal. Try, anyway. Thank you."

"Sorry..."

"Yes. She's mad."

"It's my own fault, Earl."

"Been there... different reasons, but been there" He says

"Your own fault? I know her side, but your side has been more... 'this is why' not .. you want to talk about that?"

"No, not really." Heavily. "I should at least go sit in class...." he pauses. "That's not fair to you, though." He braces himself. "What can I tell you, then?"

"Okay. What part do you think you did wrong? "

"I should not have gone back to the hospital. "

"Mmm well, you do see Magnus as your son. Hard call to deny." A nod "Okay. That.might help me make the pitch..geez sorry, don't mean to act like this is a sales attempt. Anything else?"

"No. Thank you, Earl." He finds a wan smile.

"August... I'll tell her about some of the good things you've done, the heroic things. Maybe she'll realize what i do... that you've got a nuts and flakes in your cereal, but your milk of human or kithain kindness is as pure as it comes"

He nods tightly. "Thank you."

"And August... you're not the only one with flakes in his bowl" He taps his own forehead
