She plucks the ID back from his hand and gives him a little wink. "Thanks."

"Yeah. Not like it really keeps the scumballs out... but if you get any hassle, call for Davey. " He taps his name tag

"Mm, I'll do that, Davey." And she strolls her way inside, looking about the place and trying to spot Carlos.

It takes a bit... but yes, indeed. Carlos is throwing money around like it's nothing, and talking to another guy at a table.

She takes a spot at the bar a few yards away and orders a drink...something a bit froofy and not particularly strong, likely with a little umbrella.

a shift of her legs, a savoring of her drink with just a bit of a lick to her lips..and more than one man notices. The question will she hit her target? Well, a lot depends on whose eyes she chooses to meet.

She does glance around the room....the bored look of privilege...and looks over a few of the men, but looks for just a fraction longer at Carlos, letting her eyes travel up and down his form for just a second too long before turning back to her drink.

She glances at the door now and then.

There's one cute guy, not Carlos, who would be a goth in style if it weren't for the sky blue touches he insists on mixing with the otherwise black ensemble. Goes with his eyes. But she is hunting right now, and gives Carlos the 'nudge' with her eyes and ...

Carlos talks to whoever , and then walks up to her, full of confidence that only good looks and solid finances can give a man, he moves near her, " A refill for the lady, and another hit for me." He tells the bartender.

"I can buy my own, thank you." She doesn't want to make it too easy, and ends by glancing at the door again.

"Sure you can, but a pretty lady like you? Never should have to." A good smile, a practiced smile.

"Well...." another look at the door, and a pout. "What the hell. Fine." A nod to the bartender. "Thanks," to Carlos, a bit demurely.

"Some jerk stood you up? That should be a capital crime" Carlos says with a head shake, "Look, I don't know who you were waiting for, but if you're looking for an upgrade. I'm right here. My name's Carlos."

She looks a bit skeptical, but then also seems slightly charmed by his confidence. She offers her hand. "Cleo. Short for Cleopatra. Nice to meet you, Carlos. And yeah...I really thought he was...well...his loss." A determined shake of her hair, and she raises her glass. "Who needs him!"

"Certainly not you. Cleo? Nice name."

"Mmmm..." She drinks, and then gives him a look before asking, "So what do you do, Carlos?"

"Got a meat packaging plant, it's a cozy little factory. But you know, it's not my first love. You ever been skydiving?"

She smiles. "I have as a matter of fact. You enjoy that?"

"now and then, yeah... it's a kick"

He's trying to impress her with fearlessness and wealth. Given her house and background , he's hopelessly outmatched

She asks him to tell her more...and affects an expression and posture of growing interest as he rambles on.

Oh he talks and chats, trying to make himself interesting and appealing to her, and yes, free with the praise "I haven't met a woman as intersting as you in a long time. too interesting for this club I think. You want to talk this talk elsewhere?"

He might think the drink has gotten to her, for her eyes are a bit dreamy now, but she's been encouraging him to drink another round or two of his own as they talk. "Well...I'm supposed to be going to this thing tonight...of course, now whatshisface isn't here, so...." She seems to be weighing options, considering him.

"What thing might that be?" He asks

A smile and she looks away. "I'm not supposed to tell...."

"Oh now you got me curious...go on , tell me. Maybe I can top him..it"

Oooh, that was an interesting slip, she thinks. Another of those measuring looks, uncertain. "Well..." She leans in and whispers, the fruit and alcohol tingeing her breath just lightly. "It's supposed to be this very private club. Very secret. Very elite."

"You're leading me on" he says "I would have heard of it"

"Yeah? Maybe. I hadn't. The Lion's Pride. But it's not like a bar or...oh, you know, that place out on Grand Avenue." She makes a vague gesture of dismissal. "It's more private than that. Invitation only."

"And that creep had the invites and left you dry?"

"Well...yes...but we were both invited by the owner, so...I think I can still get in, but I wouldn't want to show up alone...."

"Well, let me be your plus one, Cleo."

A sidelong look. "It's...um...a very special club," she murmurs. "Just so you know." She licks her lips. "But if you're sure...?"

"Whatever it is, " He says confidentially "I'm in"

A blush and a smile. "Okay." And she lifts her glass to toast him.

Bait successful, hook in, and soon she'll lead him to that very SPECIAL Club.
