A pause as she takes another bite. "And what of your classmates? They all managed to survive finals week?"

"Oh, sure." Matter of factly. "Some maybe better than others but they made their choices about how important school is and...." He shrugs. "They'll get through."

"I know you all supported each other. Like the note taking and so on. So I'm glad."

"Well, humans are designed to work in concert together. Take care of each other. I read where an anthropologist said the first sign of civilization, in her opinion, was the find of a fossilized femur in a grave site."

A frown. "I don't understand." She finishes.

"The femur had been broken, and then healed."

"Whoever had the broken leg couldn't have hunted, or gotten water, alone. Someone took care of them, helped them heal."

"Civilization."

"Hm. Even if that civilization were only a matter of two people?"

He nods. "First signs of civilization. And, after all, it was a grave site. Someone put the body there, and covered it. How many were present? We can't know."

A fond smile, and she watches him as he speaks.

The music is playing but not so loud to intrude on conversation

He smiles back, enjoying the meal. "Do you, ah, this is pretty good, isn't it?"

Quite good, at least if you mean the food. Delores has been training hard.

(He meant the food, but play it as it lies...)

"This is above and beyond. Did you plan this? Did you call her and have her ready this for tonight?" A smile.

"No, I didn't." Earnestly.

"Nor did I. Hmmmm." A suspicious glance in the direction of the music.

Great food, good music. Candleight. mmm

He glances towards where the boggan vanished. "Ah. She, ah... she suggested to me that maybe... the, ah, boggans here are... directing efforts towards certain goals." Quietly.

"Certain...goals?"

He shrugs surreptitiously, or what passes for it. "To, ah, to help, of course. Make sure the right people bump into each other. The right words reach the right ears. That kind of thing."

"Maybe she thinks we need this?"

"Well...yes, that's sort of the boggan way. But you made it sound like she had suggested certain specific goals....?"

He shakes his head. "No, not... not as such. Just... maybe that -she- or -they- had specific goals? Nothing they shared with me."

A sigh and a shrug. "Well, if it means lovely romantic dinners for us out of the blue, then I have not objection." She appears to be done with hers...in that her plate is quite clean.

As is his. He grins. "Me either."

He takes her hand. "What does the rest of your evening look like?"

Oh there maybe left overs, but no doubt that wil lbe taken away at the right time later by Delores

"Well, first it looks like ringing this little bell to see what dessert awaits...but then...I made sure to leave this evening open." She does ring the bell with her free hand, her other resting warm against August's fingers.

Delores shows up as if by magic

"Well, are we ready for dessert?"

He nods, clearly still entranced by the lady. "Ah, right. I forgot, dessert."

"Oh I think you'll like it, Sir" A look to the baroness to be sure she's ready

A smile and an eager little nod. "You've got me awfully curious about what could top that meal."

August tidies up his place and waits.

"Oh nothing tooo fancy, but quite decadent..." Slices of Chocolate Turtle Pie are presented, "In a good way"

August examines his, interested.

"Oooooohhh....that looks amazing."

She takes up a little forkful and holds it out, offer the first bite to August.

The boggan seems to have found something else to do

He grins, and takes it.

She watches his reaction with a grin.

"Wow." Mouthful. He cuts a piece with his fork and offers it to her.

She takes the offered bite and closes her eyes, savoring it...the blinks in surprise. "Ohhh, yes. That's a 'wow.'" Another bite.

decadent was the word

He grins, and nibbles at his own. "Ah... Oh, Christmas. So... would you like to come to Mass with us? We usually go to the Midnight Mass."

"Midnight Mass? Is that different from the Sunday Mass I've been to?"

"A little." Enjoying the pie. "We'd get there much earlier, for the Christmas carols, and then Mass might take a little longer and there's usually a candlelight procession at the beginning."
