".... and then I woke up here. I don't even remember going to sleep, to be honest."

"Do you feel any lasting hurt from it? Any wound-echoes?"

"Hm." He checks himself, patting. "Nnn.... no."

Nope, hale, hearty, rested.

"Good." She strokes his chest, just to be sure there's no gaping wound that he's fibbing about.

A shy smile.

NOPE.

"Very good...." She murmurs, kissing him again. "Have you finished your notes?"

He nods, glancing over again. "I think so. I started writing almost as soon as I woke up."

"And you're well rested? Plenty of energy?" A little teasing smile.

"Mm? Oh, yes, I suppose so. I worked most of the day in the library."

"Then...perhaps you and I should seek some...exercise?"

He seems a little nonplussed. "Exercise?"

"Ah."

A shy smile. "If, ah, if you like."

"I like," she says with a pleased and certain smile. "Our room? Or...elsewhere?" A glance at the stacks.

"Oh. Oh, ah, our room would be fine. Fine."

Her eyes sparkle. "Then take me there, August." She steps back and offers her hand to him.

He slips his hand in hers and escorts her out of the library and away.

And if the tips of her fingers play tantalizingly against his palm as they walk, nobody else never need know.
