"And of course, certain classes...." She looks to August with a bit of a smile.

"Ah..." Magnus says cautiously

August looks mystified.

"Classes?"

A blink at August. "Pre-cana?"

"oh, well, no we're not doing that" Magnus says

"Right! Sorry." He blinks, and swallows. "Well.... more meetings with Father but... yes." A small grin.

"Well, for you they may be meetings because you already know all these things...for me, they're classes as well." A shrug, and more breakfast.

"I think it's great you two are taking the time to do it actually. I've actually thought about going to Sir Frank in Rivervale and seeing if he does pre marriage couple's counseling"

August frowns, puzzled. "Why would he?"

Coradel looks interested. "You think you two need it?"

"Well, he's a Mountain and well, Vali told me they were kind of like counselors.. turns out not as much officially as I was led to believe, but he's good at it!"

"And no not..really I don't think so? do you think we need it?" A worried look now "Are cracks starting to show?"

"Not at all! You fight, but that's part of why you love each other, I think. You're willing to give each other a good challenge."

"Everyone needs it." August says with surety. "If Sir Franklyn is willing to counsel you, I suppose it makes sense."

"thanks" He finishes his meal

A look to August.

He is finishing his own meal; healthy teen appetites.

"Hm." She finishes, though she's leaving a bit on the plate, and licks a last bit of syrup off her fingertip before finishing her tea.

August glances over. "Hm?"

She looks at him, and smiles, albeit a bit tightly. "Our opinions differ. I think I will go have that ride now." She rises smoothly from the table.

"mmm much to think about. Thank you both" He rises as well

August looks a little lost, glancing at the table. "Ah. Ok." He rises too. "I, ah... I'll... get going."

"Until later, Magnus. Tell Claire I say hello." And a quick kiss to his cheek. Then, "I will see you later for commoner petitions, August?"

"I will" He smiles"

"Of course."

"Good, then." And equally quick kiss on the cheek, and she's sweeping out of the room.

A look to his dad

A puzzled frown, an aborted gesture to return the kiss (poof, she's gone!).

The thinking lines on his forehead.

"I think maybe she thought you contradicted her in front of me and she wasn't crazy about that"

He looks around to Magnus. "She... what? When?" He searches his memory. "Because we have different opinions?"

"My beloved is an Ailil. Her left eye twitches if I tell her she's wrong in private. She's really not crazy if I give my 'different opinion' in front of others. But in Coradel's case it might be the immediate contradition when she thinks you could have..ah offered an alternative view more tactfully even if you don't flat out support her? "

August's head drops. "Ah. I thought... since it was just us, family...." He takes a breath and nods.

"The family part affected it. I mean, how does your mom respond if your dad corrects her in front of the 'kid'?"

August blinks at him. "Ahhh... it's not really a big deal between them." He sighs. "But, my mortal mother isn't a Baroness. I'll remember."

"well, look, " He writes down an address, "Here's where you can find Frank King, that knight mountain I mentioned. If your priest isn't available"

August chuckles. "Thank you. I've been to Rivervale, it's a fine place if a little intimidating." He tucks the paper away. "Father Boccodelle said he'd do it but it's good to have a back up." <ENTER>

"Always and... August? If you think you have things figured out on your own? talk to two folks you trust before you proceed. JUUST my advice."

He sighs. "I'll never get anything done, I'll just bounce from advisor to advisor."

"Well, there's that risk" A sympathetic smile "Maybe get membership at a florist shop"

Baffled. "At a... florist shop? They have memberships?"

"I don't know ,but they should. Guys like us would save a fortune in the long run" A grin, "We'll talk sword restoration later"

"Oh! Right." The penny drops. "Would flowers help do you think? You think she's that angry at me? Maybe the sword will help...."

"Hard to gauge. You ..could always talk to her honestly, admit you are confused on the whys, and ask what subjects you're ALLOWED to be right if any, but the time I tried that with Claire I ended up carrying a bouquet anyway"

Another heavy sigh. "Right. Ok."

"She knows you love her," He assures, and heads out.

"Thanks, Magnus."

And almost terminally baffled, August heads out to his own business.
