The Balefire flares! And the hold shudders. Some banners turn crimson instead of sable. The perpetual fog about the place becomes lighter. The hold of mystery adjusting to suit the other. And Coradel? Coradel can feel the flame

"So witness"
Dame Agincourt says. The younger knights repeat it, new and old "So witnessed"

"So witnessed." He whispers.

She grips the Baron's hand, startled by the sudden sensation of the balefire's presence in her mind, her being.

The baron cries out in pain

August holds him, wishing.... so much.

It is the Vidame who says "Baroness, I do not command here. That has been decided, but if I may suggest, his bed, that Candle be fetched?"

"Yes...yes, of course." She steps back and looks to the thanes. "Move him carefully to his room."

"August...the Candle...does he have it, or did you hold on to it?"

August holds him till the Thanes take him, and follow close behind. "He had it."

"I have no idea where it is.." ANd Shalimar is off

Sparrow fades back a step, watching all.

She moves in the thanes' wake, holding August's hand.

Magnus looks down at the floor where Shalimar was, "Poor fellow, he was crying."

A shriek of pain escapes the baron as years of folding Da'an against it self sends its bill due.

the Thanes gently pick up their baron almost like pallbearers at a funeral, i t he corpse could scream.

August collects Coradel against him, close.... the shriek brings a sense of urgency to their walk.

She can only spare a brief grateful look to August...she's focused on the cries of agony as they follow.

They take him to his bedchamber, and see Shalimar already there with the candle, lighting it as soon as the baron is in

She stays behind - perhaps not entirely certain how to soothe those who remain - a sympathetic look, a hand on the shoulder...

Coradel murmurs, "Thank you, Shalimar," then tries to help get the Baron settled comfortably.

It is here where the fruit's of August's quest offes its succor. The candle's light seems to ease the man, as if the radiance numbed the pain, numbed, not removed.

"My Lord."

"Sir August. Do you know, how utterly gauling it is to have to admit a liam may have been right?" a weak smile on the greybeard's face

VIdame Iona is starting at the candle "Oh sweet Morgan Le Fay herself. That's by the Candlestickmaker. You found the three and they HELPED?"

He consider the question carefully. "As much, perhaps, to say that there is some wisdom that should remain .... secret."

"Yes, Madam. One did."

A rough chuckle from the baron.

Vidame looks at The Baroness of Fiona, "Does everyone underestimate your paramour?"

Sparrow finds herself being...pushed? Kind of...by Squire Colton. "You should be up there with them. They're your family, Baroness."

"But somebody needs to help down here..."

"Sadly, yes...most do." She looks to August seriously. "Thank you."

"Dame Agincourt and the other knights know the routine and will keep things orderly. You have TWO duties to choose from. Your mother is going to need you with her. If I still had a mother.." A sigh "I would so be there."

"I feel surprisingly zen. How irritating," The Baron coughs.

A reluctant nod, and she heads for the baron's chamber.

A slight grin to the Baron. "Well, would it help if you had the excuse of having had a drink or two? I could fix something..."

"Something strong, something good" the baron says

She rises and goes to the small collection of bottles the Baron keeps near his reading area. She's learned a thing or two about mixing drinks (one does when one's mentor is a satyr), and fixes him a good strong something.

She brings it to him and offers it. "Here. Taste."

August hovers nearby.

OOC but AugP has been up.... a long time.

He tastes.

Sparrow finds herself joined bby Jennete, who whispers "you should not be alone either."

THe baron savors, and coughs "Well, I did ask for strong."
