"Gladiola?"

"T..thistle?" A voice from the clearing ahead the wisp leads "Help?"

She forges ahead.

Citrine is faster. This may or may not be a good thing.

As THistle closes, she sees a rock too short to be a proper obelisk it has a carving of marks upon it, and it has a chain with an odd elaborate leather braiding of celtic knotwork. More alarming is the collar it is attached to, a collar around the neck of Gladiola, who should be able to rip it free, but it seems beyond her strength. Worse, the troll girl's hands look... misshapen, and hairy. Like they're turning into paws

She tilts her head.

"He's gonna turn you into a dog, ain't he?"

"Yep. " A very scared look, but she tries to say calm "I can't seem to break free. Arawn will be back soon. I get the feeling I know the breed I'll turn into. Odd. I saw myself as a working dog." There is a rune mark of a hunting hound on the stone. Gladiola shoves forward then gags "Leather? Since when can't i break free from Leather?"

If a satyr here, they might joke

"Yeah, what breed?" She squints, kenning the collar as she pokes at it with her knob-knuckled hands.

"A hound, never seen one before but the Baron told me about them. Fine hunters... white bodies, red ears. Really lovely. " A beat "I'm not as thrilled as one might think"

"Yeah, I ran into them earlier."

"Hoooww.. " She grits her fanged teeth "How the hell are you not shredded?"

Yup . Looks like the dog design on the stone is imprinting over her normal form. Breaking free with strength won't work it seems, so another way to unlock or unweave it (Not the naming) might work

No buckle, but maybe there's an end to work free on the braided leather...

"Long story, involves the poor sap that looked back."

"Oh! And I made cloisonné!"

"Cool... keep working. Celtic God coming for me. I ..tried to bargain for one of his pups... didn't think he meant a me for it trade"

"Yeah, just couldn't help yourself, huh?" An experimental tug at the leather.

She gives a tug and grows a tail herself

"Thistle. You have a tail"

"What the )(&(@#^ lycanthropic bullshit is this!?!"

"It passes through the bond. I think? It's reshaping us to dogs... you better go . I'm sorry .. I couldn't protect you"

She grumbles and digs through her backpack.

"Yeah, no. Dumbass."

"I mean it. " She says with a bit of a growl

She pulls on her salamander gloves, and flips open the knife on her multitool.

She's got it

"If I don't touch with my bare hands... mebbe..." She tries to work the tip of the knife gently underneath the collar - placing the flat against Gwen's neck, to try and keep from nicking the stony troll.

She slides it in "Hey, your tail is fading. Maybe it didn't touch you long enough?"

"Maybe!" And she gives the knife a firm tug, trying to slice through the leather.

And... it doesn't work. The leather seems very strong, stupidly so.

Gwen's ears are furry

GLARE.

Maybe there's a weak point elsewhere...

"Look, this is getting bad. Time's running out. As.. knight, I'm ordering you to go" Gwen draws on the authorit yof her title

The stone is old, tough, and the leather is embedded in stone that's pretty tough. The only soft part is, oddly, the etching/pattern of a hound. That seems almost clay like.
