The trip to New Zealand was actually pretty easy. A lift from Siv 's ship though Siv was confused on why it was needed, got them to the shore of the country. From there, Olgar and Kerri headed into a trod and went into the Dreaming the "proper" way.

Kerri doesn't speak much to anybody as they travel, letting Olgar make arrangements and explanations as he deems appropriate.

Olgar doesn't say much, and leaves Siv with plenty of questions.

Once the two enter the Dreaming for a duration...well.... there are many dangers... many threats. Nothing quite like fights with the ringwraiths.

Kerri's not completely without combat skills, thankfully.

Indeed, she smashes and strikes hard. And should she cast Hollystrike instead of Heatherbalm... well, it's amazing to watch a ringwraith explode

She seems to take a rather energetic pleasure in being able to do that.

"Beautiful" Olgar admires her carnage causing capabilities

However, when a trip-wire trap sends a three-foot-long, razor-edged leaf swinging towards Olgar's neck, her warning to "DUCK!" is more than simply verbal...he is compelled to move faster than his natural reaction. It saves him...but it was absolutely a dictum.

He rubs at his neck, and shoot her a concerned look, "Honest opinion time. Would I have not done it fast enough if you had just warned me the regular way?"

The pan glows... brightly. It can teach her more than that. Her husband won't question.

"I...I don't know." Hesitation...then more firmly. "I wasn't about to take the chance."

"Can't say Ienjoyed the sensation." He says "But then, I might not be crazy about a beheading either." A frown.

"I think you'd have less option for an opinion at all."

The pan's voice is loud again in her head despite it being in the bag.

"Fine, but remember... on the trods, the Rover has to call the shots . So I may have to give you an order or two. You good with that?"

She nods in reply, but then stops. "I...Olgar, can you carry this for a while?" She indicates the pack. "It's..." She doesn't complete the thought, but looks like she has a headache.

He grabs it " Sure thing." And she feels a slight relief.

"Thanks. Sorry."

"you got nothing to be sorry about" As they move on though he begins to sweat, looking parched. He's trying to act like he's not. But she can tell. It's like he has a heat stroke coming on

She notes this and stops them. "Wait...Olgar...no, it's...put it down. Now. Please."

"I'm.. I'm good.." Sweat is pouring from his brow. "Okay.. you're not buying this are you?"

"No, I'm not. I...I think...Olgar, let me try something. Give me the pack, please?"

He hands it to her.. then looks much better. It would burn him if he touched it. Apparently its slow roasting him from the pack.

She feels no heat at all

She nods and steps a few steps further away. "Keep an eye on me." Then she puts the pack on the ground and opens it.

"Yeah I.." A deep breath. "Okay." He hates this. But she wants him to show he trusts.

A nod, she takes a deep breath...and lets loose, the pan itself her target. "STAND DOWN. YOU WILL NO LONGER HARM OLGAR, AND YOU WILL STOP BADGERING ME."

And the Pan cracks in half

Olgar blinks "what the..."

She blinks.

"Did you mean to ... uhm.."

"That..."

"Uh...no."

"That's....really it?"

"I...I did it?"

there is no magic in it, no glamour even, it's just a broken chunk of copper.

She pokes at it...then picks it up, one piece in each hand, and shows it to him.

"Well done," a clapping sound. A guy who looks a lot like Elijah Wood...as Frodo stands before them.

Olgar touches it... no burns, no heat... and then he turns.

She turns and stares at the new arrival and looks like she might hurl the pan parts at him. "Who are you?"

"Well, I'm not Frodo, but so many conversations about Mt. Doom and the one ring are bound to set a few things aren't they?" The being appears to be a powerful chimera.. or even more. "But for now, call me Frodo."

More important than the broken pan.. is the sense of ...returned empathy Kerri gets. Her... softer , what she might have thought as her 'weaker' side is returned, and it's not weak at all! It never was. The pan had tried to seep away her compasion, nibbling a bit. It's all back now.

A bit of blinking, and she shakes her head briefly, as if waking. "Well...okay, Frodo, but...what do you have to do with the pan?"

"Consider me an arbiter of Da'an. It's.. complicated." He grins. Rare for Frodo as they know Frodo, but this fellow seems less miserable, "let's just say your'e not the first commoner to resent Sovereign, and at the same time be fully aware of it's power and wonder if... such demands were heard by the Dreaming, a demand for equalizers, for arts to be spread more evenly. Oh a great headache if the dreaming had a brain... and I won't say if it does or doesn't because trying to answer THAT would cause headaches for us all...."

Olgar raises a brow "I don't think anyone asked for it at the cost of what's BEST in them"

"Certainly not.... " Frodo says, "But allow me to continue. The sidhe, at least many of them, knew that the commoners hoped to learn the same ... and protested to the Dreaming that only they, the 'heirs of the Tuatha' were worthy of wielding it. Again with the headaches."

The hobbit paces about, walking on and off the silver easily as it talks.

Kerri frowns. "The sidhe...corrupted the intent of the Dreaming?"
