Zara glides through the muck and mire of the black river. She is searching for something near the bottom, her gill like neck undulating with the currents. What has she lost? What is she looking for?

She's not sure... and yet she knew not so long ago.

it vexes.

Mmm oh, the skull of a lover embedded in the thickest part of the riverbed. She wondered where she put him. Oh, fond memories. But no.. that's not it.

The knife that damns? No. The bowl crafted from the shell of the wise old turtle? No no... mmm the scroll sealed in wax? No. What was she...

and she wakes. This was, after all, just a dream.
