Deep in the Dreaming, House White moves. Mirrors adorn the walls.. And the Princess of the House stares into one searching. Oh, this was once the Evil Queen's mirror, but it has served House White since... well, it seems forever. The images flow and take shape... and she gazes to see.... the Princess of House Beast staring back!

"So, we're spying on each other, are we?" Princess White says.

"It would appear so, magic mirrors, they're useful" Princess Beast, Lady of the Defiant Rose says "And one tries to learn of one's enemies"

"I did not start this war" Princess White scowls, her face lovely.

"Did you not? I'm sure that's what your history books would say, but my House has a literary bent. Rest assured, we will separate the non fiction from your fictions. Prepare your armies of birds and dwarves. You shall need them."

And the mirrors dim. The Princess White turns and calls to a bird, "Send message to House Glass. Tell her, House White calls on old alliance, and if that is not enough? Old Debts"

The bird flies off, to do just that. A dwarf coughs "You know this will not tilt the balance enough. Other Houses with side with Beast."

She glances over, "And to think, you are descended from Happy," A sigh "And bring such gloomy matters to light. yes. I fear the land of After Ever will know battle on a grand scale."

"Well," the dwarf says dark humor "Just whistle while you war"

despite herself, the Princess smiles.
