"I thought Gwydion sidhe were good at security" Clem is furious

"Easy, Chief" Emmit rumbles "I don't blame the Count for this"

Brekke's fury is on par, but held back as best as a Gwydion can. "I believed we could trust that the Count's lands would be secured. I do not blame my liege...." A pause. "But he has sometimes hosted those in his court I find untrustworthy."

"A symbol was found, left where the attacker seems to have shot from."

Clem takes a low breath "Let's get some coffee and you tell us about that then"

Brekke's jaw is tight as she nods agreement and holds off on discussion. She takes another look at Emmit, to make sure he really is well.

Frank follows along, securing the rear of the group.

Emmit seems to be takingg it better than Clem is

They soon each have a mug (Troll sized) and gather about

Agnes joins them, as does Murray, their storm.

"Now, about this Symbol?"

Brekke requests pen and paper, and makes a quick sketch of the symbol Symon showed her. She turns the paper so that all can see it, watching their reactions.

Agnes scowls "Well, them again is it?"

"Looks like" Emmit frowns

"Perhaps. It's been suggested that this symbol is a plant, that we were meant to find it and make the connection -- but that another is actually to blame."

"Care to share? what the symbol is?" Clem asks

Brekke looks to Clem. "Beltane Blade," she grumbles.

Clem's eyes darken a bit "The ultra traditionalist sidhe nobles?"

"Them's the one" Agnes says then looks over "A plant?"

Brekke nods. "It is a theory. I did not see the placement of the symbol when it was found, but apparently it was too...obvious."

"We trust who found this card?" Murray asks

Brekke considers that question seriously for only a brief moment before nodding. "I do."

"Well, that's that" Clem muses "And i agree. Who leaves a card? REALLY? They have to know they'd have every side tearingg into them"

"Instead, they would create a fervor against one group while making their own political gains." A sigh. "Baroness Nadeen was far more skilled at the patterns of court than I."

Agnes huffs "If onlys won't help us, Chief Brekke, and you and yours saved our Emmit . No complaints here"

"Emmitt ...." Frank Rumbles" who knew you would be there?"

"Far too many folks, I'm afraid" Emmit admits "I told folks that I was coming out, so to speak, as a Namer. "

Brekke nods to Agnes, but still looks uncomfortable.

"Which was a damned mistake" Murray the Storm says "But it's done"

"Many are investigating this, and the thallain is being interrogated. We will know more soon, I hope."

A frown of thought. "Mountain...I wonder if this is a strike against you...or an attempt to keep one from being Named by you? Were there any surprises in what you helped those fledges to see of themselves?"

"Quite a few, but nothing that should concern most" A frown

A nod. "Then...the question is what happens now? Do you plan to do further public Naming?"

"No" Clem says/ "Definitely not" Agnes says /"that would be stupid" Murry says/"Sure as hell do" Emmit says .... all at the same time

A brow at the clatter of responses. She looks to Frank, and remains quiet in anticipation of the upcoming chaos.

Frank sensibly remains quiet in the face of a family brouhaha.

And it goes on as predicted... "Lost your damnn mind?" "We can't afford to lose our Mountain..." "Not worth dyinng for a point" "Old enough to take my channces and I don't back down.. and folks need me" /"WE need you" "Just lay low until..." "Grab that ear and TWIST...

Eventually, Brekke clears her throat to interrupt.

For a moment, the DeBukes share a unified glare at her. Uniting as families do even when they will otherwise go at each other, but then they grow a bit sheepish "You ah.. have something to say, Chief Brekke?" Clem observes

She nods. "A suggestion. Give us a month to investigate, Mountain. Let us see if we can identify the power behind this attempt before you resume Naming beyond the Farm."

"Mmmph.. I was thinking I might be useful to you as Bait" the Mountain says

Agnes eyes Emmit's ear

"You might," Brekke agrees reasonably. "I would prefer that not be our first approach."

"Unncle Emmit, you know darn well that if I get Storm AND Hearth behind me, we can vote you to be sent your room...." Clem says

"WITHOUT Supper" Agnes adds

"So let's not put this to a vote mm?" Clem eyes him

A blink at both Clem and Agnes.

Emmet brristles "If I werrre still a wilder I'd 'peace out' of this out of pride. But.." he runs fingers along his beard "Seeing as I'm not . Fine. "

"Rightt of Demense" Murray says to Brekke as if explainnin

"Mm," Brekke acknowledges Murray's comment. Then she looks back to Emmit. "It may come down to your involvement being necessary, but for now please trust Bergen's people to do our best to find out what truly happened."
