Sally mae, a kinain lass in her early twenties greets them, though Murray already cleared them through, approaches "Hello honored guests. I'm Sally Mae. Do you need any help carrying anything? The Chieftain is on her way"

Zara starts quietly counting kugels...

"How did they even find that many casserole dishes?"

"Oh no, I think Aunt Agnes made a few too." Earl comments "one for you, a regular kugel, and a cornbread Kugel"

From the running arguement, it sounds like the Uncles ..... drove? A van-RV? FROM NEW YORK???

"Well, there should be at least three sluagh...."

"And, ah. 9 sluagh kugels?"

"Certainly enough DeBukes..."

And Sally Mae is impressed "that's QUITE a trip.."

Oh dear. Sally Mae's comment inspires a fresh round of who was driving when what exit was missed and WHO thought the LaGuardia shuttle was the north star and who the hell uses astrology to navigate anyway and.....

Zara slips past to give her parents a hug. They are not always enchanted, but today would be a special occasion...

Clem approaches and looks at Sally Mae "Nice try"

Clem however says "Folks, Welcome to our farm"

Indeed, A banner with the star of david has been put up with the words "WELCOME TO ZARA'S KIN! SHALOM and HOWDY!"

The happy couple gets a chin-tilt from Miriam and a little wave from an overwhelmed Jacob. Hannah exclaims over the banner and points it out to Aaron, who seems surprised by it, and perhaps by where he is; how did it get to be Iowa? The Uncles are busy arguing, having segued into that time one of them (the story changes) in their own theatre and if the loss of direction is or isn't a sign of dementia.....

Clem actually does a good job of answeringg questions about the farm if any come up, and more importantly helps herd the crew where the food awaits. Her one time pretending to be Zara gave her a crash course in Zara's kin so this almost easy mode compared to the baseball wars which will never be mentioned again

"...There are 20 kugels. How are there twenty kugels?"

Clem is, at least, better prepared for Hirim's magnificent coutoure than most of the rest of the DeBukes; he really pumpted it up today and it's obvious he had a hand in Ratchet's appearance as well. That's not uncommon on special occasions.

Some of the DeBukes do seem a bit confused on what the patterns shiftinng MEAN? Is it an omen for locusts? They're too polite to ask outloud

Earl mutters to Zara "I'm not sure. I certainly didn't mention them 20 times"

As they walk by, various DeBukes pop up in ones or twos, inntroduce themselves, wish the 'bride and groom' well and say hello to the 'bride's family'

Hirim's outfit is best described as 'Gay pride meet leiderhosen in Las Vegas.'

They DeBukes will put up wards against locusts anyway later tonight

The feeling for even those like Zara who have been used to this, might be like walking through a tunnel constructed of large blue oaks to the sides as they make their way to the main building where the cooking and dining is set to go.

"Now over there are our cows, we don't have many of but they're quality milk cows" Clem points to other buildings as they make their way, "Further back, we've got a forge and anvil set up... Mister Ratchet might want a look at that later though it's nothing fancy. That's where we keep our library and the book club meets. Now Zara herself had a hand in expanding that"

Zara is quietly hiding in Earl's shadow!

Earl is a good trueheart.. when folks come to shake her hand, he intercepts and shakes the hand on behalf of both of them, and diverts subject matte away from most shandas.. often by mentioning the weather and predictionns there of

But Zara does feel a bit of glamour... and realizes some of the girl childlings have worked a cantrip. She is trailing bridal flower petals, and now and then, bits of rice land in her hair from above

They do not snicker, but rather coo with wistful dreams of one day being truehearts themselves

She is QUITE pink. Earl likely finds it goes well with the grey.

Ratchet -does- look interested in seeing the forge, and pays for it with an elbow in the ribs.

And hearh Agnes greets them at the door of the main area as they're about to go in, "Ya'll know me, I'm Hearth Agnes, we've traded recipies. Seems we're a lot closer than that. Miss Zara, Mister Earl... I believe the phrase is Blessings on your head, Mozel Tov? All of you come in now" She motions to some help "Sally Mae, Ulia, Joe Joe Jr, help bring those kugels and more in .. my they do smell nice"

"So help me if they sing 'Sunrise, sunset'...."

"Depends on how much alcohol is involved" Earl whisper/warns "And keep an eye out for Spencer. He lives for moments like this now"

A quiet groan.

Hannah greets Agnes as if they were old friends and settles into the kitchen as smoothly as if it was her own. Aaron stands a bit awkwardly with nothing to do; he has a book under his arm but no where to read.....

The Uncles squable their way into the living room.

Zara gently herds Aaron to the porch where some of the DeBuke alter kochers have claimed rocking chairs.

Bronte, indeed, is perched on the back of one and reading over Jephthah's shoulder.

Aaron soon settles in with them, not reading yet but the book is on his knee.

A kiss on his head. "Thank you for coming, Papa."

"Of course, bubelah." he blinks owlishly at her "We wouldn't have missed it."

the table is huge, able to handle 20 trolls, but the seats have been replaced with more standard sizes

"I know." Happy smile.

He pats her hand.
