The balor squad, sidhe , commoner, and thallian alike move at an easy steady pace. They will refortify the outpost near the Rath of the trod to the Barony of Dry Tears. This usurption will not be tolerated. The Snake will have it's tower!

"Once we cut them off... it willbe a waiting game but we will choke them out" Knight Sgt. Lister dind't LIKE Harkson, but he doesn't like a lot of people he avenges. The blood of Balor unites even as it twists

His second in command, a female redcap named Corp. Shank, isn't so sure, "The barony was pretty self sufficient, and if she has the peple's support"

"The people wont support starvation, and the outpost will give us a place to raid trods from,a nd ravage dreamers. Soon the Liam will fold for the same of the mortals"

"There" the Sgt says "The tower at the wrath" He looks and smiles, then the smile..dies

Fluttering at the top of the small squat outpost tower, is a banner he does not quite understand. Truthbranch has the oak, but so much more

"I am Ser Dubh the Gray," A voice calls out from the tower "What brings you to the Baroness Derynwydd's domain, for this rath has been claimed. We do not allow the Thallian.. if they approach, they die. "

"Do they?" The serjent sneers "House Balor disputes this claim, now, remove yourself from our tower"

Sir Gray says "You have now made a threat, Sgt. I must now order you, in the name of the Baroness, to lay down your weapons and surrender, or turn back."

"I don't like this," Shank mutters sniffing the air.

"Gather crossbows." The Sgt. Says "Kill this drab fool"

They take aim

And Sir Gray blows a horn!

the bolts fly and then twist and bend in mid air, falling to the silver!

And the tower gates break open, and warriors come out! Rovers!

"Abandon crossbows, form a shield wall!" The Corporal Yells.. it's their only chance to inflict damage on the Rovers and their scavaging styles

The Balor move iwth military expertise...

only to have the veils behind them drop, as the other rovers and warriors come from behind!

"Kill em before they cry surrender!" Olgar snarls "That code of Dagda is a pain!"

It's not just rovers either. Other holds called have contributed. Overwhelming force up front to confuse and destory this attempt. Which was Dubh's suggestion

And so Dagmar finds herself attacking either from the front or rear... fighting for a barony she's never seen! There she was, in her PJs, and then suddenly finding herself, woke, and her father getting dressed asking her if she wanted to risk her life to keep some folks free by assiting Olgar? Well, if Jaymes was gonna go to help...

Obviously, Dagmar is there! She lets out a battle cry as she rushes in with Flyswatter!

Dagmar gets the task of disrupting pikemen, her pole arm allowing her to out range them in melee... and she shatters pikes and spears as if they were uncooked pasta strands!

The pikeman see a wolfish grin behind the helm. She's having a grand time!

Another troll, bigger than Olgar, bigger than Dagmar, hopscotches in the middle of some archers and brings his weapon down "No more snakes! No more balor! No more SeRFS!" And his gleaming spiked club splatters more "NEVER EVER AGAIN!" Little Joe is angry

The sergent tries to invoke Soveriegn .."By the power of the Tower, by the might of the Eye so red! Scatter and kneel, you common-"

BOOOM! Lightning consumes the sergeant ...as the spear carries it through him

Jaymes grunts ("Long bunks in battle are stupid")

Grunt! ("Go Dad!")

Dagmar finds herself with a redcap on her thrusting a blade at her, and trying to scare her "MAKE A HOLE!"

Fear is..powerful, terror. It's not dying that scares Dagmar, what if she loses a limb, or a face?

Dagmar might be scared of that - she's seen what happened to Colton, and that cap has frightening teeth Right There - but she's also here to PROTECT people, slaves who were recently freed! She won't quaver! Better smash the threat!

And Flyswatter finds smashing works, ironically , it is the redcap who loses a limb and falls back to be crushed as she bleeds from the stump "Fuckin..sarge killed us al..."

In the end, none of the defenders of the outpost die though some are going to need a lot of healing. Two prisoners are taken from the survivors of the balor squad. They'll be interogatted later for further balor plans.

ANd Dubh says "Rovers, allies of Rovers... Thank you" He cleans his own blade "To the victors, the spoils. Gather what you wish from the defeated, with the gratitude of the baroness"

Hm. Interesting! Dagmar could use some spare blades...

No cold iron, not even balor can carry that by trod. A flaw in thier little trod ownership methods and cold iron love combo. But the gear is arguably better than their warriors were. These guys were meant to hold a tower, not take one. Mmm Pauldrons with Ramhead pattern... a troll sized Dagger (Short sword to others) with a pretty good balance but not much in fancy design... hey, a necklace of silver with an amethyst.

She kenns the necklace, Balor might be sneaky.

it has magic... but is it cursed? It doesn't FEEL evil. It's not a powerful magic at least. That she knows

Better not put it on yet, just in case.

But it is pretty, and Tove might like it - if it's safe.

Little Joe grunts ("Good fight, little one") approvingly to her

Then Olgar calls out "Hurry it up, you mooks! And remember, healers weree patching folsk up so if you get too greedy and cut them out I'll redistribute" To make a point he grabs a cloak from a body, a good one, and brings it a pooka local who does heatherbalm. She seems surprised, then smiles
