Clem approaches

"Never, love."

"I suppose I could make some cryptic prophesies..."

Earl is beaming at that. Clem comes up, "Hi you two. I'm sure you're about babied out, but..speaking as Chief and a friend to you, Zara. I was hoping you might share what you saw?"

"You do know that Soothsay is not like watching a trailer, aye?"

Earl nods in solemn agreement

"None shall bring Ragnarok down upon the farm, none shall prick their fingers upon spindles and slumber..."

Clem raises a brow "Well, that's some comfort, do go on"

"Well?"

Clem says "I am grateful for that, but, well, any advice born of what you saw?"

"Allow them to be who they are."

Clem looks at Earl, then nods "One lesson we should have learned earlier. Good advice. Did you see signs which ones might be satyrs, and which ones might be trolls, and which might be kinian?"

"Do you think, knowing that, you could treat them equally?" She tilts her head.

Clem says "Zara, come on, it's me. I'd like to think I've been fair long as I've known you"

"Aye. And I do not doubt your intentions."

"But... I have feelings, not foreknowledge."

"And you've mentioned aught of difficulties with the new nocker - who is DeBuke-blooded as they come, unlike these seven."

"Ah," She nods "And I see your point. My problem wasn't treating Mara equally, my problem was treating her like a troll or troll kinian... one reason I hoped clues to their eventual kiths was so that I'd have an easier time making sure options were open to them. And they are DeBukes... mother's side."

"Some do feel trollish, I would suspect to see several giants. Some are kinain, aye, and.. oh, oh, that one.. aye, a satyr or two."

"And... some may surprise you."

Well, CLem does look interested

"You know, my family expected me to be a nocker."

"I can see why they would" She nods, "Actually, it's surprising we're as universally troll like as we are. For a time kinian were so few themselgves they often interweaved." A look at her "But I think you fit sluagh best. I've seen you with the cookies, fun short term, but we'd all miss our favorite lady of whisperers"

"hear hear" Earl agrees

"Zara, did your family ever make you feel bad for not being a nocker?" Clem asks, curiously

She frowns, just a little.

"For a long time... well, they never.. "

"I..."

"I know they expected me to be. But they always loved me, aye."

Earl gives her hand a squeeze gentle.

Clem says "I've met Hannah enough to know she's got love enough for a village, your dad as much behind his quiet ways, and your uncles probably too they just hide it better. Sorry if I pried too deep there."

"Well, when I was younger, I was very much convinced my kith was a disappointment to them. But that... no, they were surprised, but not disappointed."

Clem looks very thoughtful

"Poor Miriam, to have two sluagh..."

"But Jacob, oh, he is very outgoing."

"Oh maybe he'll grow out of it? Afore he's doomed to gregariousness?" Clem says with exagarated alarm

"Like me? Aye, aye..."

"Next thing you know, she'll be hanging out with trolls" Clem says sadly "Ain't no sluagh deserves that"

Earl looks torn and tries very hard not to smile

A soft chuff, her not-quite-a-laugh

"Case I haven't said it, Zara, I do appreciate the help you give me and mine. And i know I can be a hammer at times when a lock pick is needed." Clem says "I want to thank you for your insights on the babies and I'll trust you'll let me know if you think I need to know more. As it stands I do think there's a chance troll or not more than one of them may grow up off the farm."

"Aye, but some will end here."

"Happily so."

Clem nods "Need to boarrow a few things from the Amish I think."

Some distance away, Sylvi steps off the bridge from the Lodge, carrying a large basket. She asks the first person she sees where Chieftain Clem would be.

And she's given directions pretty promptly.

So it might be that Clem sees her approaching before Zara hears her, or the other way around.

It would appear chimera are thriving in the farmhold area... more pastel decorations like little butter flies and rainbows... but also a disturbing number of chimerical mouths on things they weren't berfore

Sylvi enjoys the new additions. Mostly. The mouths are....ewww.

Zara may notice first, but it is Clem who speaks up first "Sylvi? How are you?"
