Zane has listened intently, trying to be patient. It's not his forte. But he's listened, quietly. He said he would wait until the Old Guy was done talking. Well, he seems to be, or at least paused for a moment.

"So you see?" Emmit says.

"I see HOW, yeah, but ...why does it work that way? I mean," Zane says "Why wouldn't a helix work as well as a spiral? In the legends..."

Emmit blinks. "It's how we've always done it, lad. It's a solid path, I assure you."

"If that's how you've always done it, how do you know it's the best way? And..what if the helix does a different thingg so we should learn? I mean, we should experiment don't you think?" Zane says intrigued

"Perhaps we should walk before we run?" Emmit says.

The Satyr looks utterly baffled at this line of thought "but why?"

Emmit sighs.

Why, he wonders, don't I just stick to teaching trolls?
