"Sounds like you feel hair is something you're good at and like, but emissary is who you feel you are. Tells you something, don't it?"

A puzzled look as she pauses with the okra. "Maybe. That sounds...kind of right. I mean, like, it kind of makes sense...but I'm not sure I know why it makes sense." A wry grin.

"mmm well, could be trollishness... we're very much tied to our duties... even the unseelie as you know. Seems to me you might have a good way to muse and travel like you say, but you'd want to call your folks regular. Now, I suspect they'll point out that you should do college so you could learn good skills about public speaking or what not as an emmisary- and also because they are good parents and know how hard life can be without college these days. But..." The old woman says "I'm old. I think old. I do old. And that's fine by me. Seems to me... and correct me if I'm wrong, you have another alternative you ain't thinking of."

"I've got a couple, but...it's like I said before, they seem really great one day, then a few days later not so much. So I don't know if even what I'm saying to you to day is the same as what I'll think three days from now!" A heavy sigh. "I just wish I could decide...." Then a speculative look. "Did you go to college, Hearth Agnes?"

Then she gives the alternative "I find that youtube online nonsense silly mostly... never cared for Boxes telling me how important they are when it was TV.. computers not much better... but I have seen the girls around here watching youtube videos of young women trying out hair styles and the like. Some not much older than you. Course they have to deal with jerks, hateful folks and perverts, especially if they're as pretty as you. But it's also a way to train unofficial like...while your'e still at high school no less. Maybe get a bit of money, find someone willing to apprentice. AND see if you end up tiring of it before you commit. Make it a hobby, share that hobby, and see what takes off. I know Tove is not 'playing' at skalding for all her tubing or whatever... and it works for her. In this day and age... old think isn't always best think. And if you tell anyone I worded it that way I'll make you do Okra everytime you visit until you turn the same shade."

Sylvi stares at Hearth Agnes a few moments as if she just sprouted feathers. "That's...not the sort of advice I expected you to give...but your'e right. I mean, I've watched a lot of those videos, but...I never thought about...huh. You're right, I should try that. And that way, if I do like, it, I can show those videos to people I want to work for....hmmmm....."

"I don't know technology, but I know showing initiative can be prized. Now, your mother and father might see some problem in it I don't and I'd listen to them not just because they're your folks, but because they're closer to understand this tech and the dangers than I. But it seems to me no less crazy than some of the things wilder girls did when I was one... " A nod and she turns "You're done with the Okra I see. Thank you for that."

"Yes'm. I...can you excuse me, Hearth Agnes? I think...I'm going to head back home. I want to talk to Tove about how she does her videos. And yeah, I'll talk to my folks about it."

"Of course, sensible that. Hope it all turns out well for you, and tell your folks I send my regards" She dismisses the girl kindly.

"Thanks, Hearth Agnes. I'll tell them." And she hurries out of there before she can be invited to share in the okra portion of dinner.

She avoids the Okra, has a new option she had not considered, and soon is on her way home in good weather.

This evening was a total win!
