Speaking of sluagh patience, back at the farm again, but it's for a good cause. "Really appreciate you helping us out with this, Zara" Clem says as Zara sorts through a list of books. It would appear that flood victims rescued by the DeBukes have been handed over some of the DeBukes books, the ones the trolls were willing to get rid of. But there is a demand from some childlings and many wilders for new material to read. They appear to be burnted out on Baum and Wilder...and if they have to read Catcher in the Rye ONE MORE TIME.... violence may ensue.

Zara tuts, and gets to work - lists and lists, by age, and by kith.

Mrs. Piggle Wiggle for the boggans, Redwall for the pooka, Oz for the Eshu...

Clem observes this "you really think tastes vary on kith THAT much?"

"Oh, I have read and loved all of these, but.. mayhaps, aye, some suit more than others. I fear Redcaps would have little love for Anne of Green Gables, but would delight over Goosebumps..."

"Mmm I suppose you're right" She says "Mind you, around here it's mostly trolls and farming trolls at that.. but it surprises me how many young wilders are wanting something more urban to read about" A sigh "How am I going to keep them on the farm if they decide the cities are more glamourous?"

"That's... difficult, aye."

"Perhaps... well, sometimes the grass is greener?"

"Perhaps there are those in the city who dream of big sky and waving grain?"

"You think I should make a recruiting pitch? " Amused "Chief Clem wants you" She points straight ahead

"...Perhaps an exchange program?"

"Sounds like an invitation for noble houses to infest the place with spies" A sigh "But maybe there's merit." Amused "I Know it's wrong, but I can't help but wonder if we could pinch one or two from Rivervale"

"Well... there are plenty of other mews that wish naught to do with the crown."

"Well, yes." She ponders "You thinking non trolls?"

"Would it be so bad?" She shrugs.

"Though I wager it would be a big change..."

"Not sure, the thing is... we might not be a troll lodge much longer if we do that" she admits "We've got one of our own, a nocker. Fine girl, known her all my life. She chrystialized at 16 recently... why so late with her living here all our life? I'm worried it's because we're trained on how to help trolls along... not others. Maybe we actually stimied her." A frown "Some of the elders are a bit twitchy about it. Eshu born off the farm was one thing... but a nocker in it? And we've got a satyr girl growing up living here"

"Well... what makes it a troll lodge? Is it the purity, or is it the structure? The Hearth, Mountain and Storm system is unique..."

"I think it's the traditions... I've suggested the Mountain, Storm and Hearth systm to a non lodge..not sure if it is taking root. Code of Dagda is on everyone's to learn list, and more. " Clem says pondering "May come a time the DeBukes will be just another fae family...as if that wasn't special enough." Wry "Some thing Lady Evergreen could tweak the gift, so troll blood was stronger, but who is to say she isn't already? And if she isn't? Who am I, even as a chief, to try to control Da'an so rigidly?"

"What are you doing with the nocker fledge? I am sure we could find a place for her at the Hollow, if you wished..."

"She's a DeBuke. She's staying here, of course" Clem says "But I did invite a nocker boy, Betrand? to talk to her..."

"Or Fenix! Why, Westward is a troll and there are quite a few nockers there.."

"Ah, aye. Bert." She nods.

"But... I would think she would need a proper workshop. Nockers are... fussy..."

"Thought about Fenix" She confesses, "Just to see but... I don't want her thinking she's not one of us. She is. Why she got that tractor working better than ever...course it flies a bit low. And..." A tilt of the head "She needs a workshop? There's plenty of work here.. and we got a garage"

"And a smithy"

"Oh, the smithy might... could I bring Uncle Ratchet here?"

"I.. if he'd like to visit, sure. I'm not sure what she wants exactly. She doesn't seem to be craft specific, but a sampling sure would let her learn what she likes. Maybe she's a polycrafter?"

"But what she would need, I think... granted, I am no nocker... but a place for... projects? A sanctum?"

"Preferably one that is relatively fireproof."

"For all our sake" SHe ponders this "You know, I think you're onto something there. Folks are always going in and out of the garage while she's trying to work. Partly curiosity I know"

"Uncle Hehe always has half a dozen projects around his shop, and not all of them are upholstery."

"And heaven forbid you touch them..."

"Oh my," She ponders this "I think maybe if Miriam or Ratchet or even Hiram wanted to visit they'd be welcome. And if we can raise a barn, surely we can set her up something."

"Speaking of which, how are Miriam and Jacob doing?"

"Oh, quite well! They came for Pesach, and it seems the house is nice."

"You got your part claimed and ready to repel?"

"I made her a lace canezou for mother's day, and she seemed to like it..."

"Working on that, aye. Jacob seems very interested in exploring the upstairs, but, luckily, none of my things are yet moved..."

"Of course she liked it, you got talent" A nod, then a smirk at Jacob "He is going to be a handful...noses into things just because he's curious and all. I don't know anyone like that myself, of course" What passes for troll subtle humor

"No, Not at alllll."

A smile "how are lessons with Uncle Emmit going? He hasn't been neglecting you I hope? He gets sloppy when it's just us trolls"

"Going well. Working on making my own runes."

"Potent stuff. Zara, when you become a full fledged namer, are you going to into saining for common folk?"

"That's the plan. So folks needn't be dependent on a noble."

A nod "I hope that you'll help us with it in the decades to come sure Uncle Emmit ever.. " A sigh "Pass on."

Zara grimaces and nods.

"Thank you" A deep breath "You're closer to getting there than his other students"

"Does he have other Naming students?

"He taught one about ten years ago... but they never got that far" A pondering "And there's rumor he has another now. But he keeps that secret"
