He picks up "Zane Wayburton"

"Hey"

"Hey, what's up?"

"How good are you at sussing out enchantments on an object?"

"My kenning is good, my lore very good. Wildheart is probably better at both but she charges more" Wryly "I don't call myself a wizard just for the giggles"

"Mmph."

"Is she subtle?"

"I mean, I'm tempted just to rip the thing off and break it."

"Wait, what are we talking about... rip what off?"

"Can she figure out WHAT kind of magic is on a thing? I can tell you it's got some kinda mojo. How much does she cost?"

"Okay. Object is? " He inquires "You keep saying 'the object' 'the thing'..any details?"

"A necklace? Pendant?"

"Amulet? Amulets are big in the magic scene" he says "Wildheart is pretty busy but she could probably take a service in payment if you don't have the dross. How about I do it for free though. Who is wearing this thing?"

"You said Wildheart is better. How about both of you? I'll pay."

"Okay... avoiding the whos, but I'll ask her. If she says no, no worries I'll still help":

"Not that I know exactly what it's doing, but it has to be.. something.."

Zane looks heavenward and for a wonder how Merlin kept from slapping every other knight of the round table silly, then says "As I don't know who is wearing the damned thing, and I haven't kenned it or omened it yet... I can't say how bad it is. But as a rule I'm against destroying magical things. Purifying is better if it can be done. Assuming this is magic. WHich I'll be happy to confirm"

"Sometimes magic can have a backlash. If it's linked to someone in particular. Sometimes you try to destroy an item only to find it's tied to a life force. Normally NOT the case but it's possible"

"I can smell the magic, it's a question of WHAT magic weird love spell nonsense is happening here."

"We're going to be coming out to your freehold on other business, so, like, if you can be circumspect when we show up..."
