"I hope to open a business in Ottumwa, the nearest city to the farm. There is a noble, a baron who claims the area, not a 'bad man' as nobles go I hear, but my point is, we shouldn't act scared of him by skulking so close to the farm. "

"What sort of business?"

"While resturants are not always considered a good investment, with my family contacts I will have an advantage in supplies" She says

A tilt of his head. "True. Looking for a farm-to-table-freshness angle?"

"Just so" Tabitha nods "Folks are hitting cracker barrel as if it were that... " A face "it's not. "

"Certainly not." he agrees "I can see the draw for mortals... will you confine your patrons to such?"

There she seems unsure "I hadn't really decided, sir."

"Mm. A matter to consider, perhaps. Not to say there aren't challenges either way."

"What would YOu do, sir?"

A chuckle. "I would not open a restaurant business in Ottumwa."

"Why not?"

she blushes just a bit.

"It's the video game capital of the world, isn't it? Food processing, tractors, a Walmart, soda manufacturing?"

"Yes, the baron there has his freehold in an old arcade"

"Mm. And how is the economy in Ottumwa; Iowa, for that matter?"

"Could be better" She admits

"Mm. Restaurants are a discretionary spending industry."

"Yes sir," She says "I'm hoping to learn how to..well, work it all out from you"

"I am willing to consider the question." he offers "It is not one that I've pondered before. No promises."

"Yes, sir. " She says "Hope I've impressed but we'll see I suppose." She offers her hand to shake

He stands and shakes her hand. "A pleasure my dear. You have a way home?"

"I do , sir. Marti is probably done too"

"Well, no rush."

"Oh we were told not to loitor, sir"

"No?"

"Well, you have others to see" A sheepish look "Wouldn't be honorable to sabatoge em"

"I suppose that is true." he agrees, and glances to the stage.

And CC is shaking Marti's hand, who then steps off

He walks them to the door, showing them off.

They head out saying thanks and farewells

And CC says once htey're gone "What do you think?"

"There might be some flexibility left. Maybe." he doesn't sound hopeful.

"Oh?" She says

"Mm. Yours?"

"She's actually promising, though she's a square thing who needs rounding. She could do jazz well actually, if she could detwang a bit"

"Well she -is- a DeBuke...."

"She's from Iowa, not Mississippi"

"Plenty of twang there, too." he agrees.

"Oh fooo... anyway, I can work with it. So Tabitha needs flexing eh? What's her hang up?"

"She's a Seelie Troll." as if that should be obvious, but also, that he loves her.

A chuckle "She's seelie NOW. "

A chuckle. "Can we delay a choice past Samhain?"

"And don't think I wouldn't adore seeing you work her loose."

She chuckles "I think winter can be borrowed early if need be"

A head tilt. "Do you mean you can call in your own Unseelie nature out of the cycle, or call -hers- in?"

"Well, actually teh latter but..m mm whatever you think is best"

A kiss on his lips "Anyway, seems promising yes?"

HIs return kiss is somewhat distracted "You could call her Unseelie nature forward? By Art? Or by temptation?"

"Oh temptation is always better, and temptation takes many forms. One can be lured by fame or luxury or whatever... but it's important she DOES get the lessons that serve her well in the future if you hire her. And you have another to review . Come now, let's go have a drink and meal"
