"Good" She says slightly mollified, "I want to go shopping, some post holiday deals call to me"

"Your chariot...." he kisses one set of knuckles ".... awaits." and kisses the other "Shall I get your coat? Oh, do bring the purse that makes me look good holding it?" he asks with puppy dog eyes.

She purrs "Yes, do get the coat, thank you"

And she gets the fancy purse

And he gets coats for both of them, to wrap up warm. And his wallet.

Soon, they are shopping about the desperate markets eager to ditch the stuff that didn't sell like they hoped at Christmas. CC pounces like a tiger on some sales, even when she doesn't need the stuff

William stays at her side, carries bags, has a credit card at the ready (and cash to tip any and all he can!) and listens to her chatter about her prey. Er. Shopping.

Why does she even NEED heels? She has hooves!

Oh, he doesn't dream of asking. No indeed. They will make her legs look like they lead all the way to heaven, every single pair of them.

While she ponders if she needs a manni pedi, he notices something.

a sidhe childling is in a toy store nearby, confused looking store keepers load up a cart for her... dictumed, no doubt, to do so

He pauses to regard the situation, not willing to disturb Callidora
just yet.

The girl doesn't pay for it, doesnt pay for anything. They fill up the shopping cart, she rolls her eyes "Now erase all the footage on that camera, and forget I was ever here. Pissant peasants"

He scowls slightly; such attitude is an irritant. Is the creature a distraction from what's important? Likely. Deliberate? Unlikely. She is simply one of an unpleasant sort like the rest of them. It is CC that is his focus.

CC comes out "I think I'll skip on the mani peddi... and..." her eyes fall on the childling "oh." she whispers "Some palace brat this close to firnost?"

"Apparently." he says dryly "Are you sure? If this salon doesn't suit you, there are others."

"I'm sure, more interested in things I don't..."

"You two" the girl says , lovely and perfect she glows as she sees two kithain, "Don't tell anyone. Or else"

An arched brow, and a glance. "Tell anyone what, little one?"

"Huh.. smart move, old man" She walks off with her illgotten gains

pushing the cart

CC's eyes narrow

"I feel the same, Dearest, but is it really worth the bother?"

"No, I suppose not" A mmmph "But one day somoene is going to give her a time out"

A smirk. "Permanently?"

"mmm possibly" She says, "Book store?"

"Certainly." his arms are loaded with packages, but he manages to offer an elbow to her.

She takes it "Thanks, darling" and they move on. No sidhe here... but CC points out "Looks like your dreamer has another book" A smile

A dark chuckle. "Wouldn't it be a treat to replace every stolen toy in that elf's cart with one of these?"

"Oh now you're tempting me" A smile though

He chuckles, and instead of plotting mayhem he walks her to her favored section.

They wander through, sahe picks up "oo..Talia Amur hardback"

"Mm?" He glances.

"Oh she does this regency stuff mostly ... well, kind of regency"

"Mmm. Glorifying the past monarchy?"

(FEH!)

"Oh hardly... in fact, she outwits some of the aristocrats deftly"

"Really?" some slight interest.

"Oh yes, the Earl de Buchanan. is an aristocrat, but the heroine the one who gets him to defy his family and embrace progressive ideas.. though to be fair, he must work hard to win her.. for a moment I thought she'd go with the Vicar"

"Why does that name sound familiar?" ponderin.

"mm? Former president name?"

"Buchanan? I suppose. Supported slavery." he harrumphs. "Considered one of, if not -the- worst, president in history although that might have changed by now."

"I know. Just the only place I'd heard the name before."

He nods, and takes one of the books to look the covers (front and back) over.

The covers art design looks... oddly familar

Another frown as he tries to place it.

This being a reprint... wait.. is that Earl DeBuke's style?

"Dearest, does this art look familiar?"

"Actually, it does.." She looks it over "Touch of surrealism but not fully there, very emotive"
