"In this (##) year of the reign of High King David of Concordia. To Lord Gildas the Dishonorable, House Daireanne
From Baroness Brekke Shacklebreaker ap Gwydion
In recent days, in the service of House Balor, you have undertaken craven and cowardly attacks on the Barony of Bergen. These efforts showcase your incompetence, both by your own personal efforts and the choice of inept lackeys to carry out your bidding.
You have attempted to poison mortal animals, surely a foe that must frighten you to your marrow as even they are well-suited to defeat you. Indeed, those animals yet live, a testimony to your skills at poison.
Your hirelings have failed utterly to assassinate the Bergen mortals you have targeted; another evidence of your fumble-brained powers of analysis and selection.
The chimera you have targeted are safe and well; is there nothing you can defeat, even with underhanded tactics and second-rate miscreants?
Finally, those Fae you have sought to hinder and trouble have brushed off such attempts. Even one who held you in a position of trust, trust which you betrayed, thrives away from your corrupt shadow. Is it possible we are made of stronger stuff than you have anticipated? Or that you can imagine? Are you, in truth, so stunted?
Now hear, and obey - Baroness Brekke Shacklebreaker, the Grimhand, summons you to meet on the field of honor (if you can find such a thing) for a duel to answer for your insults and injuries. A place, a time, a date, and weapons of your choosing. Your second may call on hers at the Firnost Freehold in the Kingdom of Grass to arrange, in honorable peace (a dictionary may help you with that term) the terms of the duel. You will respond within 24 hours of this message or publicly proclaim your defeat and dishonor.
Signed this day by my hand....."
