Another lap around the block.

As she passes the house, she can see William on the porch with a steaming mug in his hands.

Oh she is in fine color, and fine form. A woman on a mission, an amazon with an enemy, and that enemy, five pounds

He is likewise bundled up against the cold, watching her run.

Few others are jogging in this cold, but CC says that the cold helps burn calories.

And far be it from William to argue with her.

Then a figure runs next to the older satyress

"Good on you, old timer" the younger satyress says "Never say die, right?"

CC says "Pardon? " Slowing as she headwhips a bit

William watches carefully, even if he can't hear the conversation.

The wilder girl says 'Hey, just respecting folks on the down slope who fight to hit the brakes... Ta" And she moves ahead in front of CC

His eye narrows.

And the younger more athletic satyr shoots ahead of the older model. It is almost a sprint, only people get tired from sprints

What was that about? suspiciously.

And the younger one just stays ahead. CC tries to compete for a bit, but can't...

finally, CC recovers her irritation, and comes into the house on the next pass. The wilder sees her and waves 'Ta" smug and goes off

Perhaps, but the wilder DOES see the older woman's lover waiting for her on the porch.

CC comes up, breathing a bit heavy now that only he can hear her.

He gets the door for the both of them, offering his mug to her if she wishes.

She takes it, "Thanks. I'm going to go inside and knit.. or whatever it is old people do" Sourly she goes in

He follows. "Dearest...." mildly chiding "What did she say to upset you?"

She tells him. "Young punk" A scowl

He tuts. "She doesn't know you, Dearest. She is not so fortunate. You could destroy her easily."

"Oh If I hadn't lost my focus for a second, I could have had her think the ground was lava"

"Or broken glass!" he gets her coat and such, putting his own away as well.

"Ooo I'm just ready to..." A breath "Worse I let it get under my skin. I'm feeling fat and old and out of shape"

He goes about freshening her coffee, and getting his own.

"I would admonish you, but if you feel that way perhaps we can do something about it together?"

"Well, payback is a must, of course"

"Do you know the chit?"

"Seen her, but no, don't know her" A scowl

"And where have you seen her?"

"Jogging, and at the park. I was.. feeding birds. Seemed a nice way to help them through the crazy weather"

"She laughed .. loudly but I let it slide" A glower

"Well then!" brightly "We'll need to go jogging together there, see if we can't encounter her."

"I think we just have a bully. I can handle bullies myself but..." A look at him, a smile "I guess it would be wrong to deny you a part in it?"

"To trouble you is to trouble me, Dearest."

"mmm" She is PLEASED at that

"So, for now, a warm shower and something to eat? And we'll go running together tomorrow, or whenever you wish. Once you are cleaned up, perhaps we'll take a drive together?"

"A nice drive would be welcome, and.. a hot shower, yes. " She kisses him, "Thank you. I like how you let me grumble "

"Well, you allow me my own moments of grumbling. Do you wish company for your shower?"

"Only if every five minutes you say in a surprised voice 'gadzooks, who is this young nymph in my shower' or the like" Wryly

His eye fairly GLOWS with innocence. "If you like."

"I also thought I might search for this mysterious five pounds you keep muttering about."

"The scales don't lie, honey, and no, you can't arrange for the death or disappearnace of the scales" She says with mock severity

and into the showers she goes

He wanders in after her. "Accidents happen, Dearest....."

"You're going to destroy it and frame some idiot dougal aren't you?"
