The short, stout host seats a four-top and returns to the stand, humming quietly to himself. He makes a mental note to check in with the kitchen.

CC walks by looking distracted

He tips her a wink.

A little wave..not her usual saucy wink back

A slight frown and wrinkled brow, eye following her.

Yes, she's distracted

"Hildi.... be a dear, you talented thing you, and mind the door. I'll be right back." He bustles through the kitchen and then follows CC's path.

She's making little counting motions with her fingers

He watches her, head slightly tilted.

Yup. It's as if she lost something. He's seen her do this with his socks

A small tender smile ghosts across his lips, lingers.

THen vexed. Yes, the 'socks' are unaccounted for.

"You are.... -utterly- enchanting." He murmurs, moving towards her.

That catches her attention, maybe she heard, maybe not, but this time she smiles "Hello you."

"Hello -you-....." He steps in and embraces her admiringly. "What is wrong, Dearest?"

"I think I dropped a ball somewhere and I'm not sure how"

"Not likely....." William is dubious. "Howso?"

"You remember the blue green woman that came in here asking about leanhaun?" Cautiously as if not wanting to set her love kraken to flailing

A frustrated grunt. "Yes."

"I ah.. can't seem to scry her"

"Dearest, we all have off days....."

Her back stiffens at that, "I'm sorry...is there anyway you can continue THAT line of logic without making me feel old?"

"Ooo... " He slows carefully. "Probably not, so I should abandon it. My sincere apologies, Dearest Callidora." He says contritely.

"Also, I tried twice..." A bite of her lip "Maybe I AM .. mmph" She sighs "I need to get ready for the stage." She kisses him and scoots off...not walking with her usual sway ...perhaps the old granddame just ain't what she used to be..aint what she used to be...

He follows.

Once on stage, she rallies and gives a great performance...breath taking.

He watches from the wings, enraptured.

Then the curtains close... and she sighs again deflating.

"Dearest....." Gently chiding "This ogre causes you such trouble?"

"No.. my magic going limp does. " A pout

"Mmmmmm...." Salaciously "Hardly that."

A BIT of smile, and a hip bump

He approaches her carefully.

"You are... taut and deliciously firm."

"You are so transparent" A snift then.. a beat "I didn't say to stop, mind you"

"Transparent?" Shocked. "Truthful."

A smile grows, "deliciously firm you say?"

"Assuredly. Delicious. Delightful. Desirable..... Desired."

"You wouldn't trade me in for a younger more..magical woman? Some wilder half my age?"

"What?!?!" flabbergasted "Why the hell would I do that?"

"Even firmer tauter and easier to mold I hear"

"What is the point in that?!?!" He pulls her closer "Rubbish!"

She lets herself get pulled in and beams, "Baby, you are too good to me" And she kisses him. Mood much improved.

"Sincerely and honestly, Dearest. You are... so much richer, deeper, more desirable." He is absolutely sincere.

"I have to do another set, but later tonight... you are going to get the FULL benefit of my taut, firm, experience. " ANother kiss

And she peels away to go ..this timing OWNING the stage and when the curtains close... she strides off like a queen.

He watches her go with a triumphant smile that has nothing to do with his Legacy.

Yes...a sense of adoration and warmth and... dare we say love ? Engulfs him.

True Love DOES conquer all.. a part of him assures

As much as the notion irritates.... he -does- enjoy his time with her.
