Less confidantly than he was with Mr. Stodgepole, Bert explains what they're going for. //CC bites her bottom lip a few times, "Well, I hate to have my man taken advantage of..." /"But miss, it's balefire" //"I meant for my sake, you know? He's taken such good care of me that stipend AND first pick of our contracts?" //"Well miss I..." /"Maybe I can offer you something in trade for the loss of the contract monopoly? Something personal?"// The boy's eyes widen "uhm oh that won't be..."

"Pardon me." And Emerson steps outside.

"I know crafts come easily to you, but it occurs to me a well rounded young man might be intersted in other ways to impress girls ..so few young men know how to dance for example" //'Dance? Women don't still like that do they?"

CC explains what some girls do like, while giving the warning that there is variety etc... EBG can see through the door she has the young man a bit overwhelmed, but definitely has struck a cord and... a few minutes later , CC motions for EBG to come back

He clears his throat, and returns.

The new deal is much like the old, though the contract isn't as firm. The stipend did stay the same though, a testament to nocker stubbornness perhaps. CC gives EBG a look that shows she's actually a touch impressed.

He nods back.

"Bertrand, can I freshen your drink? Miss CC?"

"Please, sir." //"That's fine, then join us and give this one last look over? your talents are best at this paper work stuff" Proud

He makes cocoa and a drink, bringing them over. "Now... where is this paperwork?"

They hand out what they've put up so far and yes, he should make it more official, but the deal is solid, favoriing EBG and CC of course (It's BALEFIRE fer crying out loud)

As long as CC is the Balefire Holder. The Freeholder.

It would appear the balefire is to be split by both CC and Emerson himself! two holder is certainly possible

Soon it is looking all nice, polished, and official. Copies are made, and a check is written. CC takes a deep breath and looks at the balefire, "this needs to be done soon, doesn't it? The lantern will stnuff at Imbolc."///"Yes'ma'am" Betrand says, "I'd tell you to do it now but mortal crowds might ..." He shrugs// CC looks at Emerson "What do you think dear? Right after closing time then?"

He nods. "Yes." He considers. "Bertrand, might we... see it?"

He hands the lantern over , It is still beautiful.

The flames flicker eager to be released, almost drawn to the club

Emerson gestures that CC should take it.

Cc takes it, the green in the flame sets her own emerald eyes shining "Oh it's wanting out so badly"

"Whenever you are ready, Callidora. " He murmurs, entranced.

"Needs to wait, " She says then looks to Betrand "Betrand, can you wait another two hours? We close then. I know it's late but...//"Oh shoot, would't miss it for all the world." He says eager eyed.//"Good. I have..>" Wistful, "Another performance. I better make it a good one. Honey, make sure our junior partner is fed, won't you?"

"Oh, indeed I will." He promises, and regardless of who is present, hands CC to her hooves and kisses her thoroughly. "I will see this performance, as will our partner, if possible."

There MUST be a hidey hole of some sort.....

CC enjoys the kiss, and returns it, then trots off.//"She's something, sir" The boy blushes.// indeed, the club has a balcony spot that overlooks that isn't often in use and will go unnoticed. Callidora is on stage taking charge again, and gives a performance of "My way" A song about endings, the pride in the journey, despite the new beginning awaiting.

"Yes, yes she is. Come." And the boggan leads the boy out for what will be educational experience. Because learning is winning.

The nocker is not one for music, but wow.

In the end the crowd goes away happy, some tipsy and happy, but all happy. Things close up. And the staff is surprised taht clean up will be post poned for later.

CC returns, "How was I? Rhetoical, I know I was good, but i do thrive on praise so." A wink

"You were magnificent, Dearest. Utterly." He kisses her hands. "Did we have to put off clean up and restock though? There will be payroll costs....."

Mortified look "but that means waiting longer" she says almost childlike

He sighs. "Yes....." long suffering.

"I dislike training the staff in bad habits."

"If you insist" but she pouts.

"I will have them hurry...." And off he goes to make it happen. Soon, he is back. "There. We have the place neatly to ourselves." He takes her hands. "Thank you."

"I thought her hooves were going to tap through the floor after the first five minutes" Betrand says without thinking when the man returns

CC sniffs indelicately.

"Yes, satyrs are very musically inclined." He agrees.

CC grabs the lantern "Come on come on"

"And here we go.... " The boggan considers cautioning the boy but... no. No need.

He follows CC to the mirror, and opens it for her, and them.

She takes a deep breath, "Oh please please please please..." And releases the balefire!

Lines of glamour erupt and race and flow! The mirror takes the brunt of it and ! Oh! The mortal shell seems more alive, but through the mirror they can see the hold forming , the very 'reflection' CC dreamed off, the club parallel to the club!

Light and shadow not as just levels of illumination, but concepts .... colors full of symbolism and meaning, and meaning that comes in colors!

The boggan takes her hand.

Her hand in his, she smiles, tears flowing down her eyes.
