"Well, the club was bustling tonight" She enters into the house happily

"Mmm." Pleased. "I got a look at the till, and I'm pleased."

"No kidding, that thursday was like a friday"

"I did pop out for a bit, there."

He drops his keys off, sets his briefcase near the stairs, loosens his top collar button....

"That's the beauty of your set up, you've done such a good job you have somethings running on automatic," A wink.

"Tsk. Complacency is death."

She puts a hand on a hip, "that almost sounds like a challenge."

He chuckles, crossing to her. "If it does, it means you -need- a challenge. I have news."

She takes his hands and smiles, "What news?"

Dry "Come and sit." He leads her to the couch and once she's seated. "Anything to drink? I have a story to tell, albeit a short one."

"Mmm," She crosses her legs, "Decaff will be fine."

He goes to set it up, "So, I went by Firnost for the usual restorative tonight."

"Good. I worry you know" A smile

He lifts an eyebrow at her. "Mmm."

"Miss Zara was there, and she sends her best. She was speaking with an eshu called Caspian. Do you know him?"

"Caspian DeBuke, I don't know him so much as know OF him. Took after his mother instead of his DeBuke father." And a smile, "I do hope Zara is doing well. Kitten really is a sweetie."

He returns with her coffee and is BRIMMING with mirth. "Oh, that she is."

"So -he- is a DeBuke. Interesting. Seems the DeBukes have had quite a Pennons."

"You're this excited about a Pennons? I thought the only thing you liked about Pennons was my singing challenge." She takes the cup and sips "Go on." Happy he's happy and curious herself.

He sits with her. "Oh, your singing challenge was absolutely the highlight, and telling you this story is a firm second."

"Perhaps it was the eshu's wandering feet, but he and another Debuke, I think I heard the name Teesha, found a freehold in contest.... and they won it."

"I'm sorry? That's..." A startled look "They won a hold? " A grin, "Wait, was this once a noble hold?"

He grins at her. "And even better than that...."

A sip.

Eyes alight

"It's quite close to Hibernia. Sits 'like a toad on a rock.' A freehold of black glass."

Her eyes widen, and for a moment she risks a spit take, but no, she swallows (She's never hesitated at that!) then says "It's that hold? The one we started a war with?"

He bursts out into a hearty laugh. "It -must- be!! The description matched, and how many freeholds looking like that would be in contest?"

"Seems the little she-devil there wasn't up to snuff?" Grinning, eye sparkling.

Laughter bubbles from the satyress, from hooves to horn and she is soon shaking.

He takes her cup if needed, and sets it down while laughing with her.

"I had to go into the kitchen and turn on all the appliances to hide my laughing!"

CC lets him take her cup, in fact she's glad he did. Probably kept a spill from happening.

Another 30 seconds or so of hard laughter until, "heh... okay " A giggle, "This Teesha DeBuke went and won a hold robbing both the The Aesin AND Balor of it. I am so glad we didn't try to steal the balefire while we were there."

"Oh, that would have led us down a completely different path, and I recall we were a bit pressed for time. But..." he twinkles "... alls well that ends well?"

"Ends wonderfully. Oh my goodness. ... you have just made my week."

He leans over, gives her a kiss, and whispers "It gets better."

A kiss that is full of the taste of laughter still, then "Better? No, it can't get better" But her shining eyes show she hopes she's wrong

He leans back. "Miss Zara, looking like a kitten that drank the cream, by the way, said she would talk to Miss Clem about the state of things and what to do. So, that word in your ear."

"And, it seems Miss Zara's had her own adventures recently."

"You have heard tell of the Butcher, the Baker, and the Candlestick maker?"

"Yes, the Namers who inspired the Poem? yes. Caesar had a cookie last year, ended up as a sluagh. Poor boy got caught in a wall." A sigh then "And , of course, 'Lemon' " Amused

"I have two cookies." Softly, with a wicked grin.

"Oh my, well, I've never thought much of them myself. I can change form any time' She shrugs

"A blessing of which I am aware. Have you ever wondered how these cookies were made?"

"Soylent Batter is satyrs?"

He chuckles. "Well. We had such fun with the brownies at Highsummer, I thought we might make use of the cookies somehow for Samhain. Give them to someone who needs a new perspective, or perhaps analyze them to see how they are made." He offers her back her coffee if it seems safe.

"Assuming we are in the area, of course."
