CC has been a blur the last few days, and the near flooding has lead to sandbags and other precautions, and the waters kept from putting the Ember out. Now she's arranging a fund raiser for families that lost their homes to flood damage

"... and their pets." Mutters the boggan as he shifts sandbags to a more inviting posture.

"And their pets," She adds then covers the phone to kiss him on the top of the head, before continuing. "So yes, please Jeff, if you could put that in the nickel paper, it would be great. Thanks."

He straightens, careful of his back for a moment. "There.

Then done, she moves to him, "How's the back, honey? I can get the frat boys to take it from here."

"If you would. I'm fine, but... I've learned, perhaps, not to push my luck in this regard."

"You've been amazing," She assures him, then whistles " Hey, Brad, Tad, Cooper, Biff, Joe? Could you sweeties handle this area?"

The frat guys flex and show off assuring they've got this.

"Come on, let's get back into the club," She pulls Emerson along.

He glances somewhat balefully at the frat guys, but follow's CC along inside.

"Relax, some may want me, but others just want access to the phone numbers to some college girls I know," She smiles, "As the years pass I'm having to seduce vicariously." A wink and whisper.

He huffs, but not without humor. "Nonsense. As the years pass, more people may make your acquaintance and thus, want you. There may be limits to even -your- stamina, Dearest, and I'm aware that's saying something."

"Boys," A sniff "If I wanted a job teaching I would have gotten a diploma in education. I much prefer men who know what they are doing " she assures him.

He chuckles, and reaches up to kiss her. "You are a delight, and a comfort."

"And you are a wonder.." Kiss, "And very very pleasing to me."

"Well, good." Satisfied. "Hm. Lughnasadh tomorrow." He falls into thought for a moment, then frowns, and shakes his head.

"Penny for your thoughts..." She says.

"Oh, for some reason I was reminded that there was a time Lughnasadh was a highlight to the year. Unimportant. Did you want to do anything for it? We could find a Summer Market."

"If it's important to you, it's important to me," She says, "You want to go Summer Market, we'll do it. " She agrees, "I used to bring my own foods to some of the contests when I was younger. You know, donations for cakewalks and things."

He grins. "I like that idea. I... I did cook." He trails off again. "But that was many years ago."

"Then we need to find some place that allows anyone to present food and do so..." She insists, "Chilli contests are often open to folks and I think someone might have one going. And like I said, folks are always welcome to join in on cakewalk donations. Let's look into that. You know i enjoy cooking too, and you need to get a break from all that paperwork."

He's quiet a moment, elsewhen, then looks at her. "This is the MidSummer Traggos visit, isn't it?" With amusement. "Payback?"

"Yes, I'm avenging myself on you being concerned for me and wanting me to have a good time," dryly amused, "This is my terrible wrath... you might even have fun."

"What a fate..." He tuts.

"Well, if I must suffer, I must."

"We both know how ruthless I am," then kisses him as he complies, "I adore when you let me win. "

"I adore your ruthlessness." He murmurs. "You know that. And, it seems when you win, I win, so...."

"So," A hip bump "We look up where we can go tomorrow, and tonight...we get cooking."

"Mmmm....." He takes her hips in his hands, rubbing gently as he drifts into thought. "... there was a time. Years ago. Meat pies, hand pies, you know? Savories...."

"Oh, What kind of meat , Mr. Todd?"

He chuckles. "At the time, that was not my intent with them, but now? I'm sure we could come up with a riff......" He grins wickedly.

"However, for the purposes of Lughnasadh, probably best to stick with strictly acceptable ingredients. No pot, no dust, no Sidhe."

"I was teasing, and yes, let's get acceptable ingredients . Frankly you're a wizard with food anyway, and I want to sample these... and you know my loyalty to you means no sidhe is getting down my throat anytime soon."

That makes him tip his head back and laugh. "Oh dear, oh Dearest.... Well played."

A light playful hip bump

"What will you be making?" with a gentle smile.

"Well, if your'e doing Meat Pies with savory, maybe I'll go with something sweet for my pie. Preferences?

He smirks. The thought in his mind is TOO obvious.

"Really, how am I to answer that? Hmmm....."

"Ahem" A chuckle "Unfair set up was it?"

"My only concern is that you said it unthinkingly." Amused, still holding her. "Hm. Well, your jams and jellies are without compare, often a fruit pie uses some of the same processes. It's the height of summer, stone fruits are in season; cherry, peach, plum. You could consider a pie, tart, pastry...."

"Tart..mmm that a dig?" wink, "Actually, I do could make a mean sweet and tart pie with some of those. "

He chuckles. "Not a dig at all, no." Fondly. "You have an idea, then?"

"Oh yes, sweet cheery Pie... i may sing to it."
