Gerd grins "Wow, sounds like the anti Goth but in a nice way"

"Careful, Dio tends to see all black as a canvas ready to be filled with fashion"

Gerd looks alarmed at that "Right, tone down the goth around her. Noted"

"She can appreciate the gothic aesthetic, mind."

"Especially if hats are involved."

"I do have a rocking witch hat" Gerd says feeling a bit better

"I wouldn't reccomend all black in a texas summer, Gerd. Sorry" Theresa suggests

"Style demands what it does." The artist shrugs, with understanding.

"Oh well, we all have our bears to cross" Gerd says "I've been phasing dark blues in more anyway"

"You could try stark white?"

"It could work. White, or maybe grey..."

"Mm it is the color of death in some other cultures" She admits "And Vali introduced me to the origianal fantasy ISland. Mr. Rourke made it work"

"And much more suited to the heat, yes."

"Oh, I'm gonna get sunburned I can tell. Oh well "

"I will check with Dio, and see about supplies for our crew.."

Gerd nods "Sure. Nessa and I can shoot the breeze"

She tips a salute, and floats off to find the Fiona.

A smile to Gerd. "You are from Rivervale? I hear they have a lot of centaurs there as well. Perhaps not as many as we do."

"Actually for awhile we had more, A big gather. Buck is at the farmhold now. Tiara is still around but mostly at Caer Falken proper. Daria went to Earth RUnes. Fawn to Fenix. But as of now we have Linwood, Layne, she's a dear, and .. uhm JOrdan. He's.. an aquired taste on the sour side"

"I have been wondering if we should try to meet each other, we're all part of a larger herd, after all."

"I'm sure they'd like to meet you, some anyway."

"I'm always up for a new friend." She says, then a bit of a cloud passes through her expression, though she shrugs it off. "Well, almost always."

"Oh hey now, you can't let that expression pass over your face while a near stranger sees it. Now I want to go full Karen on you and help you with your life as if I know stuff" The troll smiles "Seriously, if you want to talk about it?"

Her hands raise to press against her cheeks, embarassed. "Oh, no... just remembering. There was this lady, a satyr, who... well, I suppose you know about that ring of centaur kidnappers? She... fooled me, pretty badly."

"Oh yeah, the whole Leech bounty "A jaw set "Yes. He stole or suckered a lot through his agents."

She shakes her head to dash the memory away, her mane flowing with the motion. Irene has been too busy today to braid it for her! "That's over and done with. I do tend to want to believe the best of people, though, even though it has burnt me in the past."

A long consideration "Nessa, I think you maybe one of the bravest women I've ever met"

She is taken aback - literally, she takes a step back with a soft clatter of hooves. "Are you sure you're not thinking of my mother?"

"Oh I bet your mom is fierce, you said she was a warrior, but that's not the only type of courage. You got hurt, and you refuse to let it make you bitter or even slow to trust? That's a whole nother level of courage. The kind of bravery that a lot of warriors I know don't have. "

She blushes. "Well, I may not see it quite the same, but I appreciate your faith in me." Nessa smiles. "We all just do our best, you know?"

"You've got Sparrow's faith. I can tell. And let me tell you, SHE has been hurt, and betrayed and had trouble coming back from it. She did, but it was not easy. And if she believes in you, not hard for me to bleieve in you"

"Now Sparrow, she's strong, not just in arm, but in mind, duty, loyalty..."

A bit of a dreamy eyed look there, perhaps a wee crush. Gerd may recognize the look, she'd had it herself before...

Oh, it's like that? She's tempted to pry, and push, but no.. SParrow is rather like a troll in one regard, she is very guarded of her own heart. Too fast would ruin it "If you like , on the trip, I can tell you more about Sparrow, what I know of her adventures before Brightwinds?"

"Oh sure, she has not always had it easy. But oddly, with Olgar's help, she got her warrior groove back. And of course, I have to tell you about Rikki tikki Tavi"

"I'd like that. And it seems we're about to take a trip together, so... I suppose we should see lady Dio. You might have a fancy court wardrobe, but I doubt I have anything appropriate. Work clothes I have a'plenty, and some nice things, but nothing appropriate in case they present us as representatives of Brightwinds. I would not have them think lesser of Sparrow for any lapse on my part."
