"I wanna cheeseburger" the drunken guy slurs wavering

"No cheeseburgers here. Two trucks down." he tries to explain.

"But I wanna CHEEZEburger" he sways belligerently

Cliff points "Two trucks down. Cheeseburger."

"You wanna punch in the nose, mister?"

"GImmie a cheeseburgeerrr"

A figure approaches, tall, blueish.. ah, a troll. Pepper is her name "Everything okay, Cliff? " She's a cook, but also a thane

Cliff nods greeting. "Gent wants to go two trucks down to get a cheeseburger."

He grabs his whiteboard and writes '2 trucks down = cheeseburger' on it, shows it.

"Gimmie a cheeze burger.. " The man squints at the whiteboard "I got moneeey"

"Got it" The thane takes the hint, slaps a hand on the drunk's shoulder and whirls him around pointing him towards the vehicle, and 'guiding him' away

A moment later, that guy 'dropped off' Pepper returns "You have to deal with that often?" She asks

Cliff nods.

"Down side of a food truck life i guess . I think I prefer a kitchen with solid walls" A nod "Tell you what, you have a dish in a wrap I could try? "

He nods and turns his back to the food prep area. Some steam and sizzling ensues.... and then he serves the wrap, enclosed in tinfoil.

She takes it "How much?" She reaches with her free hand into her purse denim purse

He names the price; good value for a thick burrito like this!

"More than fair," She says and pays up "Cliff, you need security tonight?" She asks him "I could hang around, or even work in the truck with you. THough I'd have to bend my head"

"Thanks, no. Handle drunk guys weekly."

"Fair enough" She smiles

He doesn't smile, but he's a serious sort. "Enjoy."

She digs in, and clearly enjoys it.

"mmm really Cliff. Hope you come by the hold more often. I could learn a lot from you if you allowed"

"Thank you."

"I mean it. " She's not a bad cook herself "And I bet Ellen wouldn't mind too much"

"She's a good cook." he allows "Teaching at the barony isn't really my speed."

"Well, I can respect that. My loss. Maybe I'll drop by and watch you work here now and then, if that's not too intrusive?"

He nods. "Not too intrustive, no."

she'll nod "Thank you. Got my butt beat in a cooking contest wwith a DeBuke girl last week. Still stinging"

"Sounds like it." It may be he has no idea what a DeBuke i, but he is nothing if not polite.

"Mmm" She nods, then, she sees another customer approach and steps out of the way. This one doesn't seem to be drunk

The customer in question has a red and orange mohawk, and a T shirt that says "Kennedy Couldn't Duck"

Either way, Cliff takes his order and serves him.

"you have native food? Nice. " He actually gives the proper name for one of the indigeounes food or not

That gets a glimer of interest from Cliff. "try to keep to the old sources and recipes. What can I get you?"

'Tepary beans and wild rice mix sounds good, bit of the three sisters thrown in?"

The young man seems almost respectful. Maybe he's punking wrong

Cliff nods; he's got three sisters soup and can put together the beans and rice. So, he does.

The guy pays up "About time we got some of this kind of food around here. Thanks man" he takes it, sniffs it, and sighs happily

"Welcome. You from around here?"

"I live near Marta but I heard the concert was here." He shrugs

Cliff nods "Enjoy."

"Already am" He says "You, sir, rock" And moves off.

"Huh. You have a fan" the troll observes

"Food does." he corrects.

"True enough." She nods

He has no illusions about being popular; he is sluagh. However, he also does not have false modesty about his work. He produces good food, cheap.

the food flows as more customers come in. Some, he suspects, having gotten word of good food from the earlier mohawked man

so it's a good night for business
