Pennons was over a week ago, and some maybe feeling the pull of Samhain.

"Dame Otha?"

But not Sparrow, it would seem... well, Otha's plan is working

"Yes, Baroness?" She bows

"It... hello. How are things?"

"Well, in part, you tell me, if I've done things right, your urges should be minor. It's not healthy to cut them off entirely, mind you" She says

"Well, I doubt I will be able to help it, come Samhain proper..."

"Oh no, I'm afraid you won't.. I mean, you could try holing up in your room that night but even then..." She shrugs

She sighs.

"Oh, I won't want to."

"I will swan about, insist on being worshipped, and probably try to fill my bed with a half-dozen attractive ladies."

"There are worse behaviors in a leader than one night of vanity"

"There may be, but I find it embarrassing."

"The good news is mostt will forget"

"Also true."

"Are there any other projects you want me to work on? Nessa is learning well, and Bix's help is actually.. helpful, but don't tell him I said so"

"My lips are sealed."

"We are going to need to seek out a Namer for Yule..."

"Asking the County for a Namer is possible but, might draw attention. Unfortuanately, ones from Earth Runes seem in short supply now. I don't know the full story there"

"Nor do I - some kind of trouble."

"Any Namers in your house? Liam, too, has its share..."

A nod "There are some Aesin namers among my fellow Volvas chiefly"

"We could show them fine hospitality, no? I think your House Sisters might be impressed by the wilds here, and how valuable you are to the Barony."

"I.. thank you," She blushes "I admit, I have been at odds with my House once or twice. that is past, but.. I am not exactly sung of"

Sparrow nods. "I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable. I mean, I think you're wonderful."

"Now you make MY vanity rise. In truth, I failed to become a hunter, a traditionally male role. I ... could have kept pursuing, but the pressure and teasing got to me. I'm not proud of folding like I did. But.. I am a good Volva so, there's tha. And here, I am allowed to enjoy nature"

"You are as fierce as a horned owl, Otha. If others cannot see that, it is their failing."

A smile "Again with the flatttery, and much better than Bix's proposal to tell them to 'sit and spin'"

"I do like his proposal."

"The man's a born poet" she says with fluent sarcasm "I don't know why I put up with him"

Besides the obvious friendship but well, neither will admit that

"Of course."

"Oh... And, speaking of samhain, I'll be casting portents. If you'd make a list of questions for the dreaming you'd like me to ask, I'll use them"

"Right - like potential threats to the hold."

"Exactly"

"And if there are fae in need of rescue, or about to awaken. Those are my highest priorities."

"An excellent notion" She makes a note then and there
