Sparrow is in the limo, and Pepper drives "Anyway, Grete loved the food. It wasn't bad. I thought you might want to sample it yourself. Not that Mary Ellen annd I can't handle most of the cooking a the hold, but variety is the spice of life"

"It is, and I know it isn't exactly either of your passions..."

"Hard to tell with Mary Ellen, she's so quiet, even to me. But I do want to bust heads at least as much as make smores or such" She points "There's the food truck I was talking about"

"Well, if it is baking, Mary Ellen is very passionate... have you tried her new milk-bread rolls?"

"I Have, SOOOO good" She stops the car

The truck is playing quiet salsa music over the fans in the kitchen. Unusually, the truck has an LED sign that announces when orders are up... but, from what she's heard, that makes sense in this case.

"So, you getting dinner with me, Pepper? My treat."

"Sure, why not." They move on up to the truck

It's a solo operation; the driver is the cook is the waiter.

And he greets them at the window with a slow look, and then a discrete bow.

Sparrow is stunning to mortals - the Widow Harkness has gained a reputation already, appearing today in one of her trademarked backless dresses.

To the fae, the Baroness Derynwydd shines like the sun. "Hello! Do you have any specials today?"

Pepper, redheaded troll, he's seen before. The one with that little wichtel. While also a redhead, there's really no comparison on the 'oh wow' level

He nods and taps the menu; tamales, Indian tacos, three sisters soup and fry bread, fried rattlesnake, chapulines, a berry pudding.... and the premium dish this week, buffalo stew.

"Ooo, well, gotta try the special. Could I please have the buffalo stew and some fry bread?"

"Of course. On the house." he turns and serves up a healthy portion, double fry bread.

"Oh, that..." A little frown. "I'd like to pay, please."

"I'll try the Indian tacos this time" Pepper says 'Put it on my friend's bill" Good humor

"As you wish." he whispers to the Baroness, and puts together that Indian taco; fry bread topped with chilli, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion.

"Oh, that looks indulgent. Next time." She nods.

The buffalo stew is rich and thick, and the fry bread crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside.

Sparrow pays, with a generous tip. "I hope I do no insult. There's... history here."

"mmm thanks"

"No insult taken, Lady." he strains over the fans "Thank you."

"I don't suppose you ever share recipes?" the troll asks

"As the Lady wishes."

"Do you cater?"

He thinks about that a moment "I've done office lunches, things like that."

"Didn't mean you had to" Pepper says alarmed "Just curious if you did it as a rule. if not it's okay. I know hearths have their secrets"

"None of these dishes are secrets. They've been part of my people's cuisine for hundreds of years."

"If not thousands."

"Listen, May is coming up... I'd love to chat with you about getting your services for a party of... like-minded folks..."

"You were right about the history" She says to the Baroness

"Wouldn't you want something.... classier?" he asks the Lady.

"I dunno, those tacos look pretty awesome. And Irene raved about pudding."

"Glad she enjoyed it."

"So, listen... if you are interested in doing a catering job, you can shoot me a text or swing by. I know, phone calls are not so much a thing..."

He nods.

"And if not, that's okay too. But..." A feathery shrug.

"It'd be an honor."

At least, that's what it sounds like he's trying to say.

She grants him a sunshine smile.

He looks away and takes a half-step back, almost into the flattop.

Pepper is off to he side already munching at some food

"Thank you." at least, if you lipread, that's what he says.

"Now, I'm going to go eat all of this!" Blessed relief, she goes away!

Cliff wipes his face with a kitchen towel; but then, it's hot in the kitchen.

Pepper comments to the baroness "Not one calorie is going to go to your hips, is it?"

"See, flying actually burns a lot of energy..."

Pepper smirks "Somehow not helping, but thanks"
