Lucia , boggan and raven wings is having a fight with her parents

"What do you MEAN I should quit working with the Lodge as their emissary?" She stares at her parents

"Chieftain Brekke is gone" Her father says reasonably "You've had your fun, but now it is time for work that's substance, not style"

Lucia's jaw drops "That what YOU think, mama?"

"You've done well, but really, Lucia. You're edoing a job none of the trolls there want, how important can it be?" Her mama says

"VERY" Lucia answers, "VERY. And yes, Sylvi stepped down... she has goldfinch, but she was not sent to waste her time. Brekke wasn't wasting her time when she went to court functions, it mattered or she wouldn't have gone! I'm a voice for the lodge, eyes and ears for them. It's important"

"The restaurant is important, being among your fellow commoners in the Autumn World is far more important than the flash and nonsense of high courts," Her father says "We've indulged you hoping you would grow out of it but enough is enough"

"It's time to act like a proper boggan, and not a sidhe or troll want to be, dear" Her mom adds

"Is Mrs Joosten not a PROPER boggan?" Lucia's wings flap

THAT shuts her parents up for a moment

The father finally speaks "We are looking after your interests. Now, we pay for your higher education, we provide a roof over your head. We expect our wishes for you to be respected"

"I have my own wishes and..." Lucia stops, then stares "Are you saying you want veto power over my LIFE as long as that continjues?"

"For your own good, honey" Her mother tries to placate but it doesnt' really hit the landing

THey are all boggans, and instantly they see the rift tear wide. It doesn't matter they see it coming even before it happens...

"No worries," Lucia says "I'll get my things."

"Now don't do anything foolish, Lucia" Her father insists "Nothing you'll regret"

Lucia whirls, wings a flutter as she heads to her room for what might be the last time in a long long while
