They appear to be leaving the town core and heading into the wooded areas. There shouldn't BE wooded areas in this part of Jersey but there you go

Rowan regards the scenery. They can see that some of this is the curated "forest" that is actually only the boundary of privileged people's property...but there's some real honest-to-dreaming forest here, too. "Lot more trees than I imagined."

"That is the great work of our former Chief, she was a park ranger, you know? Might still be for all I know, just not here. Some folks think the Count Hemlock this County as an insult, a kind of 'go back to Jersey' slight. Joke is on the, The Chieftain came with him, and turned THIS Section of Bergen into a wooded wonder." He looks proud for his own part in it "Think of it as a hidden forest Kithain get to enjoy most. You like nature hiking or horse trails?"

"Not as far as I know." This probably isn't too surprising, as Rowan's style seems to scream 'city-dweller.'

"That what people do around here? Hike and horse?"

"Goldfinch is a recording studio and a commoner motely hold, small but with character. It's popular for music lovers. THere's a pizza place that Dagmar likes , indie place. Fantastic Italian Resturant. Oh, and if you want a tattoo I can tell you where a real artist is found"

They look a bit interested. "Maybe, on the tattoo. Much strife between the noble hold and the motley?" They know the answer already, of course, but are interested in how their guide describes it.

"NAH, just the right amount of strife. " He says deadpan, "Now tell me about yourself, seriously, what ARE your interests? Might help me narrow down what you MIGHT like in the area if I knew that"

A shrug. "The Baltimore art scene is kind of interesting. Cool little indie movie theater that shows classic horror and gothic stuff. And good restaurants." They glance over at him. "I can probably figure out how to find what I like around here, you don't need to worry about babysitting me."

"Think of it more as local pride. I like to think we've got a good place here" They are definitely in the weeds, well, suburbia with forest overlay, and then yet more rural wild. She can see in the distance glimpses of the lodge. Damn, that screams TROLL

Wow. But their expression remains (mostly) bland. "Got any tips for when I meet those 'Big Three' at the Lodge?"

"Not particularly. More fun to watch people learn on their own sometime"

A bit of a smirk. "Fair."

There's a stable, looks to have a new addition judging by the slightly different wear marks on part of it. Gorgeous horses. A large Dog barks and announces them. Geez that thing is huge.

Rowan takes a deep breath. This place is just entirely too...quaint. This is home now, I guess? Fine. They let out the breath slowly.

"They don't bite. We have redcaps for that" The Thane opens the door for them.
