Basil comes up on Sylvi "Hey girl, you missed your papa winning the Axe throw"

"Yeah..." she says with some regret. "But...things got a little crazy here, and I wanted to see it through. Did you hear about the Balor?"

"No, what's up?" He inquires lazily

She weaves the tale of the Balor and the Foul Lance as best she can (she's no eshu, but she gets the details across). "...so I just kind of want to keep an eye on Dagmar until this is over. I don't think I'm the only one, either."

NOW she has his attention, "Damn , I don't blame you. I got a contest later but if you want I'll keep my eyes open with you." He ha s grown more serious "And I'm sorry, you were supposed to have this day off"

A wry grin. "Not sure I know how to have a day off anymore." She slips her hand into his as she turns back to watch the fumigation adventures happening at the box seats. "Oh, yeah...and apparently there was a skunk."

His hand holds hers "A ..skunk?" A look to the box seats "Over at the reserved seating?" He's TRYING not to smirk

"Yup. You can only imagine the outrage, right?" A sigh. "I do have to re-open my face-painting booth at some point. Did a lot of painting earlier, but took a break for the joust. Disappointed some kids, but I promised them I'd be back before the end of the celebration."

"THen you let me 'patrol' for you while you do the facepainting" he advises, "I know trolls are alert, but I'm not blind and will be happy to bring you news of anything suspicious. " A beat "Hell, I wont' even gawk too much at other fine ladies"

She rolls her eyes. "You know you're allowed to gawk, right?"

"What? Yyou're not super jealous that some other lady might get my sweet sweet loving? I am shocked" He grins, "I get you."

"Um..." She gets a puzzled look. "You're really making all my alarm bells go off. I assumed you were seeing other lovers, too."

"Huh?" He blinks truly confused himself "Alarm bells? I... damn, I am joking. How possessive did Colton GET? YEah, I'm seeing other lovers. I... " a scratch of his chin "See, I thought the idea was so absured that my playing was obvious. Didn't mean to ring no bells." The gold horned Satyr looks truly sur[rised

Her cheeks color a darker blue. "Okay, yeah, sorry. Just..." A pause. "It's not so much that he got possessive as he got..." She hunts for a word, but can't seem to find it. "Breaking up with him let him down hard. I don't ever want to hurt somebody that much. But...I don't want to lie about who I am, either."

Basil nods, "Okay, laying it out... I'm a satyr, and maybe I judged you too much by being a troll... your kith has a rep about being seen as being played, I'm sorry if I came off like that. But satyrs? We don't often associate love and sex as the same. I would worry about losing your friendship a lot more than losing sex with you. Not to say I'm asking you to cut me out of the bedroom, you're GOOD, but our firendship is even more important?"

That gets her grin to return slowly. "Okay. Yeah. I totally agree. And sorry for, y'know, the knee-jerk reaction there."

"We all got our buttons . You know how I get about the cause" Indeed, his Black Lives Matter interest have not faded, as it very much affects him

"I hope I don't activate many triggers there. I do try to do right by that."

"No way" he assures, "Sometimes you're more woke than I am, and I mean that in a good way" He nods "Now, I'm gonna go scout out, you go paint faces.." He looks over at the booth she worked at and frowns "Maybe someone needs you"

She leans in and gives him a kiss before heading off. "Let me know when they're going to restart, too!" she says as she goes.

"Will do" Basil says after the kiss is returned and trots off.

At the booth, there are a few childlings, and one ..kinain girl who stands alone and forlorn

The mortal girl IS enchanted. But has no 'keeper'

"Hey!" Sylvi says brightly as she gets back. "You all been waiting long?" She sets about organizing her supplies and getting settled.

"Well, yes?" the girl says "I.. uhm.. I get enchanted so rarely that I ... I don't know how much time I have. Could you give me a cat face, please? I want to be someone else today"

"I would be delighted to do exactly that. Come on, grab a seat. This might take a little while, so you'll have to be patient, okay? I'm going to do an extra beautiful job." She puts a soft band on the girl's head to hold her hair back out of her face while the work is going on. "You've been enchanted before, then?"

She takes a seat "Yes, yes I do. Only on soem holidays. When my mom remembers"

"Yeah? Oh, tell me what colors you want your cat face to be." She holds out a palatte with a number of options.

"Stripes, please" At that she smiles but is unsure between silver and gold, then says "Can I have silver AND gold?"

"Hmmm, I don't know, they're both pretty precious...." A slight pause. "But then again, so are you, so absolutely you can. So who are your people?" She knows the girl has already mentioned a mom, but who else is in the mix? She sorts out the palatte and brushes she'll use.

"Oh, I'm Kay." She seems to remember to introduce herself "I don't have a people... the others are all kithain," She blushes "I'm the 'normie' . Mom's a nocker, Brother's a troll, and sister is a pooka. I guess I'm not so precious but thank you for the gold AND silver"

"You're certainly a rarity in your family. You're all in Bergen?" She starts with the base color, having had practice with painting while somebody talks.

"Nope. Close, Teaneck" She says "We're on the border so you're neighbors."

"Oh! Have you met the baron there?"

"Nope. I saw him get launched though" She smiles "We're gonna get good rain"

"That we will," Sylvi agrees with a smile. If she were to guess, she'd think the girl looks to be about....?

8 or so

"Well, Kay, we're about to get to a tricky part around your eyes and nose, so hold reallllly still, and don't move if it tickles!"

She nods "Do i need to squint?"

"Nope, the opposite...keep your face as relaxed as you can, but with your eyes closed." She works quickly...base layer...silver on the eyes and temples...dark orange...gold over that.... "Okay, now working around your mouth, so keep your lips together." ...now silver near the mouth....

She does that, closing her eyes reluctantly. Kay had spent sometime gawking at the wonderful REAL world of dreams and magic around her...as if she were starved for the sights. So it is hard to keep them closed, but she tries to relax her face and does so. Holding still

"Okay, about half-way done!" Sylvi loads up a paintbrush with black for detail work. "Wow, doesn't this place sound amazing? Think about how many different sounds you can hear in just a few minutes!"

That makes her smile a bit, "Yeah, you can hear wonderful music and chatter"

While she's painting, she debates whether or not to add a little more glamour to the enchantment. The girl deserves as much time as she can get with the day...but it might be risky to add enchantment onto enchantment. "Yup. And people talking, and the sounds of the games."

"I hope to play Cornhole later. I'm good at it... but I can't use magic to win like my sister"

"That means your wins are even more impressive," Sylvi confides. Another dip of her brush, and this time the paint carries some of her own glamour with it. "Almost done...just a few more details...and a bit here...and there...annnnnnd whiskers..." An exhale and she sits back. "Done. You can open your eyes." She holds up a mirror for the girl.

"I'm a POOKA" She beams happily

Kay glows with delight, and more glamour

"Are you? If you say you are one, you must not be one!" Sylvi winks, reminding the girl of the rules of Pooka-speak.
